Lasagna

Author: Lorena Catalan

Ingredients:

To boil the Lasagna:

½ Onion
A big garlic teeth
3 Laurel leaves
2 tale spoons of salt
2 liters of water
For a 88oz glass rectangular oven container (normal size) use 3 sheets of Lasagna pasta for each layer *®

For the layers:

Souce²
250g Ground Meat (pork, cow, chicken, fish)
Vegetables cut in little squares (potatoes, carrots, mushrooms)
You can add so many other things…. Like spinach, bacon, eggplants, eggs
Cheese  Really important! I like to put 3 or 4 types of different cheese in each layers but is up to you

²For the Sauce:

1 can of roast red pepper
2 cups of cream
2 table spoons of tomato soup powder
½ cup of boiling water

*I use about 6 sheets

®But it also depends on the size of your Lasagna sheets but the point is to cover the hole container

Instructions:
First put the 2 liters of water to boil there add the onion, the garlic, the laurel leaves and the salt and let
it boil, when it starts boiling add the lasagna sheets, softly make them go under the water and
periodically stir so the sheet won’t stick to each other. Boil until they are “al dente”.
[I use some tweezers to handle the sheets once they are ready to place in the baking container]

For the sauce, put the ½ cup of water to boil, meanwhile in the blender cup put the red pepper, cream
the onion that was boiling in the lasagna sheets, the garlic also was with the sheets, the tomato soup
powder and when the water is boiling add it as well try to pour it to the tomato soup powder to activate
it, blend.
[When I do tomato sauce instead of red pepper sauce I just roast the tomatoes beforehand]
Now grease with butter the baking container, and put a layer of lasagna sheets, then a layer of meat,
then a layer of vegetables, a layer of the sauce and a layer of cheese. Repeat as many times as possible.
The final layer must be cheese so it will grill while in the oven and gives a nice finish to the dish.
Finally place in the oven at 240 °C let it cook for about 30 minutes, then lower the heat to 200 and let it
cook for a while, until you feel is ready.

Note: I usually finish it with parmesan cheese. Also I season the meat with mustard and black ground
pepper and add the vegetables to the meat I mix everything with my hand and then place it on the layer.
If you are going to put bacon or spinach make it a separate layer. As to the types of cheese it really can
be any kind extra soft to really hard, it all goes well with lasagna. I let it cook in the oven until the cheese
look golden.
