RAX711-L (A) Quick Installation Guide (Rel - 03)
This document is a guide to simple and convenient hardware installation. Please read it carefully before installation, to
prevent bodily injury or device damage.
The device installation personnel must be well trained before installation, to master correct installation operations and safety
precautions.
Device installation shall follow local safety regulations. Precautions listed in this document are suppliments to local safety
regulartions. Raisecom shall not be reliable to any accident if common safety operation requirements are violated, or design,
manufacturing, or usage security standards for devices are violated.
Lightning safety
Device installation is prohabited in lightning and thunderstorm conditions to prevent bodily injury and device damage.
High-voltage safety
DO NOT install or remove the device when it is powered on, to prevent unpredictable bodily injury.
Use special tools instead of common tools when conducting operations in high voltage and AC power conditions.
Prevent the device from being rotted. Once the device is rotted, power off it immediately.
Grounding safety
Ensure correct grounding before installing cables. Avoid installing the device before it is grounded.
Laser safety
Before cutting or welding fiber, disconnect the fiber and the optical source. DO NOT stare into the optical interface to
prevent eye injury.

DC power: -48 VDC, -36 to -72 VDC, providing a 3-pin Phoenix terminal
ESD protection Use effective ESD measures. The contact discharge voltage is 6 kV, and the air discharge
voltage is 8 kV.
Grounding condition The device should adopt joint grounding mode, with a grounding resistance not greater than 1
.
Installation tools Flathead screwdriver, Philips screwdriver, adjustable spanner, wire stripper, ESD glove, ESD
wrist, optical power meter, multimeter, ground resistance tester, cable tester, and crystal head
crimping pliers
Dimensions: 220 mm (Width) 180 mm (Depth) 43.6 mm (Height). Take the hybrid AC+DC RAX711-L-4GC4E1-BL-S
for example.

Do not pile the device one above another. Otherwise, it will influence heat dissipation and thus
infulence partial functions of the device.
Install the wall-mount long brackets on both sides of Hammer screws on the wall and hang the device stably
the device (the figure above taking the right side for on the wall.
example), and fix them with screws.

1 Connecting grounding cable
The following grounding cable is recommended.
Item Description
Grounding Protective grounding round pressed terminal (M4)-OT-1715AWG
terminal (1.21.5 mm2)
Grounding Name: PIL-grounding cable-4-D, wherein, the letter D is the length
cable of the cable and can be customized. For example, if the customer
requires a 1m cable, name it PIL-grounding cable-4-1m.
Yellow/Green multi-strand copper-core conducting wire 16AWG
(1.25 mm2)
Electronic wire UL1007 or UL1005 is used.
Before connecting the Console cable, you need to download the USB driver
from the specified website and install it. For details, contact the technical
support engineers.

4 Connecting CC3 plug (RAX711-L-4GC4E1-S)
Inset the CC3 plug into the CC3 interface.
The E1 cable should be made according to the E1 interface type of the peer
device on site. After making the E1 cable, inset the CC3 plug into the CC3
interface.
For the RAX711-L-4GC4E1-S, you can order the CBL-E1-DB37F/8BNCF
cable.
