2. Prepare a lifting plan to include all the key element and approved by the
SUPERVISOR
supervisor.
3. Prepare a Job Hazards and Risk assessment for the task SUPERVISOR
4. Conduct the ToolBox Talk (TBT for all the crew involved).

5. Pre use check for the Crane assembly, parts by the crane operator TEAMLEADER/SLINGER
7. Conduct pre use check for 2 pieces of 16 tons wire rope slings
9. Attached the wire rope sling to the load (Gas Metering) by using double
choker CRANE OPERATOR
hitch at lifting point at approximately 25% of total length from both end
10. The chocker hitch shall be secured to avoid damage to the wire rope by
using bulldog grips
11. The load shall be attached with 2 taglines placing at the chocker hitch
point by using bowline knot

12. Banksman to communicate to Crane Operator informing that the load is
ready to be lifted

13. The Crane Operator shall swing to the direction of the load following the
direction of the banksman

15. Banksman to communicate with the Riggers that they are ready for
the lift and ensure everyone is at the correct standing position.
16. Banksman to direct the crane operator to lower down the block by using SLINGER
hand signal (used hoist/block down hand signal)
17. Once the block is down at approximately chest level, the banksman
SLINGER
shall instruct the Rigger to attach the wire rope slings to the crane hook
18. The banksman then will direct the crane to hoist up slowly until the SLINGER
sling is tension. He then must conrm that the sling angle and centre of
gravity (CoG)
19. Once the CoG is conrmed, banksman to instruct the Crane Operator to BANKSMAN
hoist up the load at the same time 1 Riggers to control the load using the
taglines
20. Banksman to direct the crane by hoist up signal until the load is 5 metres
high. He then use boom down and hoist up signal until the load is above BANKSMAN
point B
21. Hoist down the load through the cargo hole at point B. Rigger must
control the load using taglines only until it safely landed at ground lay BANKSMAN
down area.
23. Perform post use inspection for all lifting equipment to ensure all are
free from defects. Any faulty equipment found must be reported and
recorded
24. Perform good housekeeping at the work area and send all the
equipment back to store. Defect equipment shall be kept at a
quarantine area
25. Any waste during the rigging activity must be disposed and
segregated as per company procedures

1 Examine top and bottom hooks and check for stretch and / or distortion
3 Ensure hooks swivel freely in yokes and are secured in their mountings
5 Examine load chain sheaves, check for wear and / or distortion and ensure
satisfactory seating of load chain.
6 Examine body casing and check for cracks, distortion, missing bolts / screw
or any defect, which may affect safe operation
8 Ensure chain guide roller and chain stripper are in position and functioning
9 Examine live end and dead end load chain anchor pins and check for
distortion / wear
10 Suspend hoist and spin hand chain wheel ( in hoist mode) to check ratchet
pawl function-listen for healthy clicking sound
11 Examine hand chain wheel and chain and ensure it seats correctly in the
pocket
12 Examine complete length of load chain and check for stretch, deformed /
bent links, nicks, wear and excessive corrosion.
