Course Description:
Sales and marketing have long gone hand in hand as subject fields. Sales is often regarded as an integral
tool for the successful marketing of any product or service. The fact is that no matter how good the
companys marketing, until a sale takes place, there is no income!
The Course in Sales and Marketing provides students with a background to the field of marketing and
specific skills in selling.

Learning Objectives:
The aim of the Programme in Sales and Marketing is to equip students with the knowledge and
skills to be able to function effectively in a sales department.
Learning Outcomes:
1. The qualification provides a solid foundation in the basic principles of marketing, including
the development of marketing thought,
the marketing environment,
consumer behaviour and
market segmentation.
2. The marketing component concludes with an in-depth discussion of the marketing mix.
3. The main focus of the qualification is sales and successful students will have an extensive
understanding of the selling process and be equipped to manage a small sales team.

o Theory 80 hours
o Practical 80 hours
Interpret marketing fundamentals, and be able to apply and evaluate the relevance of new
fundamentals in a marketing context.
Identify and analyse customers, communicate effectively and develop and present
appropriate sales presentations.
