Imam Shafi`i: Knowledge is what benefits, knowledge is not what one has memorised.

A real sufi shaykh will first cleanse your Nafs from materialistic
attractions, activate your Islamic vision with which you can see the signs
of Allah Ta'ala in the Cosmos and then explain Islam as enshrined in Quran
and Sunnah
'Ya Rasulullah, Ya Habeeballah, Ya Mohammad, Ya Habeebana, Ya Mustafa (SAWS)

Hazrat Ghousul Azam (r) narrates that - Prophet (SAWS) said 'Even if a thorn is pricked into your feet, I feel the
pain of it'.

I have never seen any of them respected by his courtiers as much as Muhammad ( ) is
respected by his companions. By Allah ( ) , if he spat, the spittle would fall in the hand of one of
them (i.e. Sahaba) who would rub it on his face and skin; if he ordered them, they would carry out his order
immediately; if he performed ablution, they would struggle to take the remaining water; and when they
spoke, they would lower their voices and would not look at his face constantly out of respect."

O'Allah (SWT) I implore, I beg to you with the mediation (waseelah) of your revered beloved (Prophet -SAWS)
who is chosen by you. O' Beloved of the Al-mighty, O' Mohammad (SAWS) we implore to Allah (SWT) with your
mediation. Kindly mediate for us with the Exalted Almighty Allah. O' Sacred Apostle (SAWS), O' Allah (SWT),
kindly accept the intercession (Shafa'a) of our Prophet (SAWS) for us in view of the "honour and grace" he has
with you.

They are of the strangers from this and that place. They frequent this or that
tribe without belonging to them. They do not have family connections among
themselves. They love one another for Allah's ( ) sake. They are of
pure intent towards one another. On the Day of Resurrection, Allah (
)will place for them pedestals of light upon which He will make them sit, and
He will turn their faces and clothes into light. On the Day of Resurrection the
people will be terrified but not those. They are Allah's friends (Awliya Allah) upon
whom fear comes not, nor do they grieve".
Once you have taken baya' on a real Sufi Shaikh of Ihsan, follow his guidance in religious issues with utmost
sincerity. After some time you and your family members will notice a gradual change in you, your character,
your wisdom of actions and even a change in your physical outlook.

Islamic Beliefs Syed Shah Turab-ul-Haq Qadri

Belief is first in the heart, then reverence for Prophet Muhammad and then
through ibadah. Sincere love and reverence for the Prophet is not only the
quintessence of Belief but also a condition for the acceptance of ones prayers,
lest they be reduced to particles or dust (Al-Ghashiyah)
Allah warns against holding anything or anyone dearer to oneself than Allah and
His Messenger and the struggling in His path (Al-Tawbah), otherwise one cannot
be a true Muslim. Besides Kalma, sayings and doings of a person must be in
conformity with Islam
To adopt the ways of kaffir or show indifference to their disrespect is to contradict
and refute Islam and Commands of Allah. They swear by Allah that they said
nothing wrong, yet they did say the word of disbelief, and did disbelieve despite
having embraced Islam (Al-Tawbah).

3 forms of fate
Inevitable fate is written in our destiny and unchangeable.
Suspended fate is open to the angels. Only pious saints have access to change
it with prayers or virtuous deeds.

Purifying and Striving against the Ego (nafs)

The soul possesses vile qualities and blameworthy character traits, and removing
these is individually obligatory. However, it takes willingness and knowledge of
good character but more importantly a real and actual spiritual striving, practical
purification, and weaning the ego from its unruly tantrums and tempestuous
desires.
The self is like an infant child if you leave it, it will grow up loving to suckle, but
if you wean it, it will soon be weaned away. (Al-Raghib al-Isfahani)
Jihad and mujahid: striving with one's utmost in repelling the enemy. Jihad is
three types: striving against the outward enemy, striving against Satan, and
striving against the ego. All three of these are included in Allah's words: { Strive
for the sake of Allah with a true striving } Sura (22) al-Hajj: 78 and { And strive
with your wealth and lives in the path of Allah.} Sura (9) al-Tawba: 41 The
Prophet MHMD said: "Struggle against your vain desires just as you struggle
against your enemies." fn1

Striving against the ego is done by weaning it and forcing it to carry out that
which is against its blameworthy desires, as well as committing it to implement
the law of Allah (swt) , in both prohibition and command.
