Foreword
I compiled this book in hopes of using all of the songs and resources in my
classroom one day. I included diagrams with the parts of the ukulele, including the
strings, labeled. I also put in chord charts in case I cannot remember specific chords.
The four songs for the classroom, Happy Birthday, Old McDonald, You Are My
Sunshine, and Oh Susanna, are all songs that should be familiar to my students. My
hope is that these are songs that I can use as time-fillers, methods for refocusing
attention, and morale boosters within my classroom. The next four songs, Im Yours,
The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Let it Go, Lean on Me are songs that I am personally motivated
to play. These may be less likely to be played in the classroom, but they are good for me
to retain my knowledge of the ukulele.
