Dear Parent/Carer,

Year 10 Examination Information

I enclose information for Year 10 students regarding both public and internal examinations, which
are scheduled between now and the summer holidays.

On the back of this letter is the timetable for the Year 10 internal examinations, which take place
from Tuesday 27 June Friday 7 July, just before they go on work experience. This timetable is
also available on the school website.

Students will have an assembly which covers the rules for taking examinations; at this point, they
will be given their personal timetable. As well as providing examination information, it will tell
them the room that they should go to for each examination and their seat number, to assist them
in finding their proper place in the examination.

JCQ, the body which represents the Examination Boards, produces an Information for
Candidates notice which sets out the rules and regulations governing examinations. It is
available on the school website along with two other documents which you may find helpful
(Advice for Students tab at www.isleworthsyon.org/examinations): Instructions to Candidates
GCSE Examinations and the Examinations Handbook 2016-17. Please take the time to go
through these documents with your son/ward so that he knows what is expected of him.

Below is a table which sets out the dates, times and status of the upcoming examinations:

Please note that all students will need to comply with the school appearance policy to sit their
examinations. No mobile phones, smartwatches, MP3/4 players, or any other potential
technological sources of information are permitted in examinations. Possession of unauthorised
items is a serious offence, and could result in disqualification, not just from your examination but
from your overall qualification.

Thank you for your continued support.

Yours faithfully,

Ms J Higginbottom
Deputy Headteacher
