The poem celebrates the ninth day of Navratri, which is the birthday of Lord Rama as well as the day when Maa Saedi Datri dazzles with her grace and thousands of rays. It describes Navratri as an auspicious festival where Maa Durga makes her presence felt from paradise to devotees on Earth. The speaker asks why Navratri only lasts nine days and why Maa Durga must return to heaven, wishing instead to convert their house into a temple for her constant presence and bliss.

the day when Maa Saedi Datri in Her grace dazzled in an aura of thousands of rays brighter than the sun dispersing Her bliss benign.
Such an auspicious day of Navratra festival,
and yes, the birthday of Lord Rama an apostle of truth and obedience, first incarnation of Vaishnav on the earth to be celebrated as a carnival
Maa Durga in Her majesty from the paradise
makes Her presence felt by Her devotees on our Hindu planet in a lush green forum of divinity to make it a ceremonial occasion of pious praise
During these nine days, feel rejuvenated,
feel your bliss, a mothers kiss, a hiss of caution, a lullaby to make me sleep sound without evil hiccups, feel young, neither old nor outdated
Maa! Why nine days of Navratra only?
Why not a perennial festival of your divine grace? Why to go back to heavens via streams, brooks, rills to merge with Ganga finally?
It gives me pain, anguish and tears after
compassionate worship of nine lucky days, Why am I forced to say goodbye to your precious presence and wait till autumn to cheer
Make it possible for me, O! divine Mother,
to convert my house to a temple of your worship, devotion, presence and bliss, Yes, a selfish but devotional request for sure
Maa Durga! You have two furious lions at command,
the roar in thunder and an alarm to evil and demon forces to rapidly perish or dilute to normal flow of human and patriotic fervor of Indian land - Dr. Roshan Saraf
