Letter From the Exalted Ruler

Dear Fellow Elks,

Here we are in the last month of our fraternal year for 2016-2017 and I just cant believe how fast it has
flown by. It seems like just yesterday, the Officers and I were just starting in our new roles in the lodge.
We have accomplished many things this year, but as with any great organization; there is always room to
grow and improve. Lets keep up the good work and continue moving forward in making our Lodge the
best it can be.

As this year comes to an end, I would like to thank each and every one of my Officers and Committee
Members for an outstanding year. It takes a lot of work to keep everything going at the Lodge and I
couldnt have done it without them. I would like to specially thank the Past Exalted Rulers for their ex-
pertise and direction during last year. I have learned a lot from my predecessors and couldnt have done
it without them. Finally, I would like to thank all of the Members of Sand Springs Lodge # 2553 for your
continued support. Without you, we wouldnt be able to do the things we do. Lets continue to spread the
good word of Elkdom.

We will be installing our new Officers and Committee Members for the fraternal year of 2017 to 2018 on
March 18th. We will be providing dinner that night so if you would like to come and join us, you are more
than welcome. I would like to thank the new incoming Officers and Committee Members for stepping up
and taking a seat. It is a lot of work, but so rewarding at the same time. I encourage you to read the by-
laws and understand the responsibilities of your role as it will help you fulfill your duties next year.
Dont be afraid to reach out to your predecessors or the Exalted Ruler if you have any questions or need
direction. They will be more than happy to help you.

We will be traveling to Cushing on March 25th to enjoy dinner, as well as help them install their officers
also. If you are a PER, please come and join us for this annual tradition.
As always, I look forward to seeing you at the lodge.
