    1.0 Introduction
    Most dealers perform fluid cooler disassembly and assembly on the floor or on a standard
    workbench. The common practice makes the work cumbersome and inefficient. This Best
    Practice is a very simple design Disassembly and Assembly stand. This adds efficiency, quality,
    and improved material handling to the fluid cooler rebuild process.

    2.0 Best Practice Description

    This specialized CRC tooling was designed


    and fabricated by a dealer to improve safety,
    quality, and labor efficiencies in the assembly
    processes of the engine oil and aftercooler
    core assemblies. This fabricated tooling,
    consists of a floor mounted spindle base, a
    bearing support, a 30-degree interlock
    rotation table top and an assortment of
    adapters for the various coolers that are
    processed by the dealer. For cooler core
    assembly, the housing is placed and secured
    in the appropriate adapter and the technician
    can then start with the assemble process. The
    technicians have the ability to rotate the table
    and keep the assembly adjacent to the
    Fixtures set up in a CRC environment workbench and hand tools at all times.

    platform.

    2. Fabricate saddles and tie downs to hold


    coolers.
