The inlingua method

The inlingua Method is one of the key elements that
contributes to your learning success. It is based on
decades of experience in language training and is
continually being developed to match the needs of a
changing world. The emphasis is on direct
communication through speaking.
Spoken language is emphasized. Language learners
concentrate on their oral competence before turning
their attention to reading and additional listening or
writing skills.
Whether you need a language for business
negotiations or meetings, to pass a language
certificate or just for socializing and shopping, inlingua
has a course for you.
inlingua language trainers ensure that learners
experience the presentation, practice and production
stages of language learning in sequence. Within each
stage, a wide range of different training techniques
and activities are used to keep training sessions
interesting and motivating. The overall amount of time
spent on each of the three stages may vary slightly
according to the topic, vocabulary or structure.

Gastown campus
Our Gastown Campus was built with our
students comfort in mind. Located close
to Waterfront SkyTrain and SeaBus
stations on beautiful Water Street, this
campus is just perfect. With 16
classrooms and a large student lounge,
our beginner and intermediate students
enjoy a wonderful, modern campus.

Granville campus
Granville Campus is located near the
corner of Granville and Robson Street.
Our campus has an excellent location in
the heart of the bustling shopping and
entertainment district, and very close to
Granville SkyTrain station. With 14
classrooms and two nice student
lounges, our upper intermediate and
advanced students enjoy a traditional
campus with a heritage look reflected in
its brick walls, wood flooring, and soft
wall colours.

The University Preparation Course has been designed with the aim of enabling English as Second Language
students to succeed in the competitive environment of post-secondary institutions in North America. The course
provides development for students in key critical thinking and analytic skills as well as creative processes necessary
to excel in academics. Our experienced teaching staff has extensive expertise in not
only academic reading and writing but also in academic vocabulary and grammar skills.
The course consists of intensive reading assignments, a thorough analysis and practice
of various essay styles, a novel study, perfecting oral presentations and learning
effective research methods. The UPC course runs for 12 weeks and each term focuses
on a new set of skills, allowing students to continue to build up their academic abilities.

Accommodation
Homestay
At a Homestay, students live, eat, and socialize with Canadians in a
comfortable environment. We work with professional companies
dedicated to arranging the best accommodation for students in
Vancouver. These companies have a large selection of families
available in Vancouver, North Vancouver, West Vancouver and
Burnaby. All municipalities are located within 45 minutes of downtown
Vancouver.
Full board (3 meals), half board (2 meals), single rooms and shared
rooms for couples are all possible in homestay.
Student House
Shared rooms in a student house / dormitory located in North Burnaby
but still zone 1 bus fare, about 35 minutes away from downtown
Vancouver. This is a good option for independent students who want to
live with other international students from inlingua, know how to cook,
understand the rules and limitations of sharing a space with others and
are over 19 years old. Our student house accommodates 20
international students, all of them attending inlingua, and is a good
alternative if you are independent, happy and fun.
Suites
Private rooms or shared rooms in houses are also available. Our suites
are carefully selected by our accommodation coordinators to ensure a
good location, within 45 minutes of downtown Vancouver, and a clean
and safe living environment.
This option is ideal for the student who would like to prepare their own
meals, have minimal contact with their host family. It will give you more
privacy and freedom than homestay. Students live in a separate suite,
independent from the host family, and share the suite with other
students. Normally there is a separate entrance to their suite. Suites
have their own kitchen, bathroom and common area, shared among
students. Student Suites are for students 19 years or older.

inlinguas extra-curricular activities are an extremely
important component of our students language
development.
inlingua students are encouraged to participate in all
of our daily activities, to experience life outside of the
classroom, to practice their English, and to learn
more about North American culture.
Our activities are catered to adults, and for each
month, our calendar offers a variety of unique and
