    OHMS LAW VERIFICATION


    OBJECTIVE:

    Verification of Ohms Law & determine the resistance of resistor


    using:
    (a) Ohms law and,
    (b) Digital Multimeter.

    EQUIPMENT & CIRCUIT COMPONENTS REQUIRED:

    Breadboard

    Digital Multimeter

    DC Power Supply

    Resistors with different ratings

    Connecting wires

    THEORY:

    Method I: Calculating resistance through Ohm Meter or Digital Multimeter


    An ohmmeter is an electrical instrument that measures electrical
    resistance, the opposition to an electric current. Microohmmeters (microhmmeter or micro ohmmeter) make low
    resistance measurements. Megohmmeters (aka mega ohmmeter
    or in the case of a trademarked device Megger) measure large
    values of resistance. The unit of measurement for resistance is
    ohms ().

    Steps:
    Put one probe on one end of the resistor
    Put the other probe on the other end of the resistor
    Read the ohm meter scale
    PROCEDURE:

    You will be supplied with sets of 5 resistors.
    1. Find the nominal value and the tolerance of each
    resistance using the Resistor color code chart.
    2. Using the digital multimeter as an ohmmeter,
    measure and record the resistance of each
    Resistor.
    3. Connect the circuit as shown in Figure. 2 for R = 100
    perform the following :
    a- Set the source voltage Vs to 09 V.
    b- Measure V and I.
    c- Repeat steps 3a and 3b for the remaining resistors.
    d- Record your results in Table.
