    Neymar Santos Jr.


    Neymar da Silva Santos Junior is a professional Football player from
    Brazil who was born on February 5, 1922 in Mogi das Cruzes, Brazil. Football is
    in his blood being the son of a former professional football player. He started
    showing off his skills since he was a kid while playing Futsal and street football
    and developed it when he was older.

    Santos Football Club


    At the age of 11, Neymars family moved to Santos, Brazil where he
    joined Santos Football Club. He spent his next 10 years of football career playing
    as a forward under the Santos FC. Santos is where his Football skills were
    enhanced and putted into use.

    Keeping Neymar at Santos


    Neymars overwhelming skills has attracted a lot of team who offered him
    to play for them. Neymar traveled to Madrid when he was 14, there he passed all
    the qualifications and was quickly accepted for the Football Club. However,
    Santos paid 1 million Euros to his father in order to keep Neymar playing for
    them.

    FC Barcelona
    After years of playing with the Brazilian Football Club, Neymar left his
    team with tears and joined Futbol Club Barcelona. He was inspired to join
    Barcelona from their defeat in the Santos-Barcelona match which was scored 4-0
    in favor of Barcelona. FC Barcelona is home for many Spanish international
    players which creates a very strong line for their roster with the addition of
    Neymar. FC Barcelona bought Neymar for 57 million euros for a 5-year contract;
    making him the 6th most expensive for Barcelona.

    Neymars Salary
    On Neymars transfer on Barcelona FC, he signed a 5-year contract which
    allows him to generate a net income of 7 million Euros per year, including the
    taxes of up to 52% on his salary. His contract also includes commission for his
    father, Neymar Santos Sr., which is worth 40 million Euros. This profit made him
    in the list of one of the highest paid Football Player in the world.

    Neymar is the only Brazilian Football player and the only Brazilian athlete
    which was featured in the cover of Time Magazine. This literally means Neymar
    has earned its popularity because of his skills under the field of Football.

    Most Marketable Athlete


    From the year 2012 to 2013, SportsPro magazine introduced Neymar
    as the worlds most marketable athlete. Included in this list was the likes of
    another Football player, Lionel Messi; the fastest runner, Usain Bolt; and the
    racer, Louis Hamilton.

    Neymars First Child


    Neymar had his first baby at the age of 19 while his partner at 17. The
    mother of his baby was known to be his former girlfriend, Carolina Nogueira
    Dantas, which was not introduced at the public at first to protect their privacy.
    Their baby boy was born on August 24, 2011 in the hospital in Sao Luiz, Sao
    Paulo. Neymar and Carolina agreed to name their child as David Lucca da Silva
    Santos.

    The 100th Goal


    On his 20th birthday, Neymar scored his 100th professional goal in Brazils
    100th World Cup match. Neymars hundredth goal was from his 1 st goal in their
    match against Cameroon. His goals against Cameroon earned his way through the
    6th spot of one of the greatest Brazilian football player.

    World Cup Injury


    In Barcelonas match against Colombia for the World Cups quarterfinal
    match, Neymar was kneed on the back causing him to fracture a bone. This hit
    was from Colombias defender, Juan Zuniga, who was not penalized for his
    actions. Neymar was immediately carried out of the filled and missing all the
    remaining matches in the tournament.
