There will be no after school tutoring or history bowl today.
9th, 10th & 11th graders: Your yearbook photo is currently posted next to the Student Affairs office.
Please stop by before Thursday, Nov 17th and see if the correct name & photo is posted for you. This is
what will be in this year's yearbook!
There is tutoring for freshman and sophomores daily in the library for Math and Science from 8:05-8:25.
Students: wake up with a nice cup of coffee from Anchors Awake! On Tuesday and Thursday mornings,
we are serving Pumpkin Spice and Fall Blend, and in a few weeks we will have Peppermint coffee as
well. ALSO, you can win a free mug and coffee! Any student who purchases coffee during the month of
November or December is entered to win. The winner receives a thermal mug and five free coffees, so
head up to the library to get your morning caffeine fix!
(Announce every day.) Want to be a writer? Love to read? Your Admiral Library is hosting a Skype
visit with young adult author Ruta Sepetys (pronounced Sep-a-tis) on Tuesday, November 29, in R206
from 4-4:30 p.m. Anyone is welcome, but you have to read one of the author's three books to attend. We
have copies in the library. Check out one of her books over break and come meet the author!
Varsity Football players you have your quarter final treats in the first floor office.

CLUB NEWS
Congratulations to Farragut's Model UN delegation for an extraordinary performance at the Southeastern High
School Model UN.
Special awards: Raksha Dobbedele received a best delegate award.
Katelyn Simcox will now be chair for the Social and Humanitarian Committee for the Southern High School Model
UN.
COUNSELING NEWS

Do you love history, politics, or debating? Would you like to earn a trip to Washington DC next
summer? Would you like to earn up to $30,000 in scholarship? If so, you should apply for the Youth
Education Summit! There will be an informative meeting about this amazing opportunity next

Monday, November 21st, in the library classroom after school! All sophomores and juniors with a
3.0 GPA are eligible.
The transfer window for the 2017-18 school year is now open. The application is available at
transapp.knoxschools.org.the deadline is Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017 at 4pm.
The Farragut Rotary Club is assisting in the sponsoring of Youth Exchange scholarships valued at over $24,000.
Two programs are available: one for an academic year or you can do a short term family to family summer
program. Qualified applicants must be at least 15 years old. If you are interested in traveling the world, living in
another country, and/or learning a foreign language, this might be for you. Contact Bill Nichols at 567-1119 from
the Farragut Rotary Club for more information.

Roane State is hosting an Open House on Saturday, Dec. 3rd at 9:30am for all interested students..RSVP at 865882-4554.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: STAR (Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding) needs volunteers to assist
special needs children and adults with therapeutic horseback riding lessons. There will be a training class on
Saturday, Dec. 3rd from 9am-1pm. Horse experience is not necessary! For more information, call 988-4711 or visit

SPORTS NEWS
Attention: Any girl interested in trying out for the school softball team. Workouts will begin next Tuesday
(November 29) after school. Meet in the gym lobby at 3:45. Bring your gloves and workout clothes for inside and
outside. Any questions ask coach Moore in the Drivers Ed Room.
All gentlemen wishing to try out for the soccer team this spring need to turn in their physical forms, which must be
filled out by a physician, no later than December 2 nd to Coach Dovers mailbox.
All Football players pick up your banquet tickets today during lunch.

Congratulations to our Varsity Football team for making it to the State Semi-Finals. Come to the office
to grab your semi-final treats.
Farragut wrestling will kick off its season with three returning state qualifiers this coming Monday at 6:30
here at home. They will compete against Union County, South Doyle and Cumberland County High
Schools. Please come out and support the wrestling team as they start another year. Student price is
reduced to $4 with student ID card.
