1.1 DESIGN PHELOSOPHY :The retaining wall is designed for the max.

height
The wall is designed as a cantilever with a symmetrical base slab.
From practical considerations, wall is designed with soil on the outer side of the wall
with no concrete fill inside.

Since the moments are very high the thickness of stem and base slab will be insufficient to
satisfy crackwidtth as well as ultimate moments . Hence the upright slab and base slab is
designed as continuous slabs supported by counterforts at 3m interval and the counter fort
is designed ascantilever beam having tension on sloping side.
Upright slab is divided in to 3 parts of 3m each
span between counter forts
