Stroke Blokes
Our group has continued to meet on a monthly basis as
usual, and during the summer months we enjoyed some
outdoor activities.
In July and September we visited the Mutual Mills fishery
in Heywood, managed by the Heywood and District
Angling Society.
Our thanks to Barry Hargreaves and Jim Ridley of the
Heywood Anglers, who kindly provided all the equipment,
expert coaching and valuable help on our fishing
expeditions this Summer.
Alzheimer's Society
Alzheimers Society Dementia
Advisers and Dementia Support Workers work
across the borough of Rochdale to support
people worried about their memory, those who
have had a diagnosis of any kind of dementia and
people caring for those living with dementia.
They aim to: raise awareness of how you can live
well with dementia and how to access relevant
local services through one-to-one advice
sessions and initiatives like Dementia Friends;
offer group based support via Memory Wellbeing
Cafes and Peer Support groups; and individual
support for those living with dementia via a new
Side by Side volunteer service.
In August, the group went for what has become its annual
day out on the East Lancs Railway.
