Abstract
Mosquito repellents are essentially required these days. Mosquito coils are one of the cheapest
andeffective way of avoiding them, but this coils are made up of chemicals which can harm our
health. Sowe thought about making a substitute mosquito coil that is not harmful to our health
and that is theAnstor katol a natural and environmental friendly coil.
Children today are very prone to sickness caused by insects such as mosquito, cockroaches,
flies etc. resulting that they have dengue,malaria etc. and people in the community are very
busy not minding their health at all. when they got a mosquito bite they often buy lotions or
sprays that cost too much money. Now you can make an insect repellent without spending
much money than needed.
Mosquito repellents are essentially required especially nowadays. Mosquito repellents such as
lotion, coils and sprays. The cheapest and affordable kind of mosquito repellent is the mosquitorepelling incense coil yet very effective way of avoiding the rapid growth of mosquitoes.
Mosquito coils are mosquito-repelling incense, usually in a spiral shape, and typically made
from dried paste of pyrethrum powder. The coil is usually held at the center part of the spiral,
suspending it to the air. A typical mosquito usually measures around 15 centimeters in diameter
and lasts for up to 8 hours.

How will it be useful to make Madre de cacao functional in making insect repellent. Also,it can
be a solution to prevent poisonous chemical of other commercialized repellents. It will also
benefit the following:

The study will benefit the people especially dog owners because in this study it will help them
be aware of the use of Madre de cacao.
Community
.The study will benefit the community for it would provide cheaper and flea repellent and
provides new knowledge for them.
Other researchers
. The result of this study will serve as a reference material for those who are interested in the
study and want to further investigate about it.
To be able to determine the pesticidal effect of Madre Cacao plant extracts on mosquitos.
To be able to make a mosquito-repelling incense coil out of natural ingredients like Madre
Cacao plant extract.
To be able to make a substitute mosquito repellent that would not harm or threat human
health.
To be able to lessen the cases of asthmatic patients caused by chemicals contained in a
commercial mosquito coil.
To be able to produce an eco-friendly mosquito-repelling coil using natural ingredients.
To be able to make use of natural resources found in our country to solve common problems
caused by mosquitoes.

Madre de cacao is a nitrogen-fixing tree. In some areas, it is referred to as a quick-stick due to

its characteristic of growing almost right away just by cutting it and directly planting it in the
ground. It is a fast growing tree with a maturity height of 10 meters (33 feet). It is adaptable to
almost any soil environment, including infertile soils. It is tolerant to salt spray and water logging.
It can tolerate drought for up to 6 to 8 months. This tree can be potentially weedy, but rarely
causes a problem. Its ubiquitous characteristic makes it a good alternative for feeds due to its
availability in almost all areas in the country.
Focuses on the ability of Madre Cacao an ingredient for mosquito coil, on repelling mosquito
and to determine how commercialize mosquito coils affect human health and environment due
to its chemical content. This also focuses if the Madre Cacao mosquito coil is a good alternative
for a commercial coil.
