ENTRY GUIDELINES
(Please read the guidelines carefully before submitting the entries)
GENERAL
Genres: Short Film, Documentary, Animation, Community Videos on any of the competition categories.
Duration: Films upto the length of 60 min only (including credits).
Cut off Year: Films produced between 2014 - 2016 are eligible for the festival.
Films already screened in the earlier edition of the festival are not eligible for re-entry.
Entries are invited in all languages. Non-English and Non-Hindi language productions must include English
subtitles.
Entrant may submit more than 1 film in the festival. Each film must be accompanied by a separate Entry
Form and Entry Fee.
Submission Deadline: June 15, 2016 (Regular), June 15, 2016 (Extended),
ENTRY FEE
Entry Fee details and mode of payment are given in the ENTRY FORM. Entry Fee is mandatory and nonrefundable.
Send us (By Courier/Post) two DVDs, necessarily PAL for final judging and public screenings.
All materials must be sent prepaid. Collect or C.O.D. (Cash on Delivery) will not be accepted.
Organizers will not be responsible for any loss or damage to any films. All films and related materials may
be insured by the entrant against any damage or loss which may occur during transit or in the course of
the festival.
Judging and exhibition copies submitted to the Festival will not be returned and will be a part of the Festival
Archives.
Films submitted in WIFF will be included in other non-commercial and educational public screenings around
the world.
Please fill up the Entry Form and e-mail it along with Synopsis (150 words), Directors Biography (150
words), Film Stills (five), Directors Passport-size photograph and Promotional Material (if any) to
[email protected].
WOODPECKER AWARDS
It may be necessary for reasons beyond the control of WIFF to change the content, timing, duration and
venue of the film festival without further notice. Information regarding any change will be uploaded on the
website only.
Submission of Entries implies full acceptance of the festival guidelines.
Films once entered cannot be withdrawn.
All matters NOT mentioned in these regulations will be decided by the Festival Director. The discretion to
make an exception to any rules and regulations of the festival will rest with the Festival Director.
All disputes are subjected to the exclusive jurisdiction of competent courts and forums in New Delhi only.

Environment - Global warming, climate change, depletion of natural resources, ever increasing pollution
levels and production of waste at an indescribable speed has brought upon earth many environmental
issues to combat. This category is for productions that movingly captures these issues of immediate
environmental concerns.
2.
Forest & Wildlife - Deforestation, urbanisation, unsustainable development and poaching of endangered
species has resulted in a serious ecological crisis. Films focussing on issues related to man-animal conflict,
endangered species, depletion of forest cover and similar other concerns as well as showcasing successful
interventions are invited under this category.

Livelihoods - Challenges for human survival, particularly in rural areas are immense. Increasing
population, loss of biodiversity, widespread pollution, rapid urban development among others, has
threatened traditional livelihood opportunities for millions. Films depicting livelihoods challenges at
individual or community levels, drudgery, as well as focusing on social issues like child labour, beggary,
etc. can participate under this category.

Gender - Films powerfully depicting the issues of gender identity, biasness, exploitation as well as
empowerment are invited in this category. Films could also focus on the impact of globalisation, challenges
to traditional social positions and roles and growing acceptance of new gender relations.

Films on Disability - This category includes films which explores capabilities and strength of people with
disability, aimed towards bringing about an attitude of inclusion and empowerment of persons with
disabilities.
6.
Children Films - This category is for films that have been produced with children as the target audience.
These films should be able to instantly connect with children through interesting characters, storyline and
music.
7.
Art and culture - Films focussing on various arts and crafts, dance, music, heritage as well as indigenous
culture can participate under this category.
8.
Health and Sanitation - Sanitation is critical to sound health. Also, it helps create physical environments
that enhance safety, dignity and self-esteem especially for girls and women. Films focussing on issues and
campaigns related to sanitation, public health, safe drinking water, cleanliness and related issues are
invited under this category.
9.
Animation - Animation has the power to creatively put forward a story on any complex theme, issue and
subject. Its the ingenuity of the creator to effectively use the multimedia tools and bring out a powerful
film. With animation, there is the potential to take the viewers to new worlds or environments that seem
somehow familiar, but have been tweaked in interesting ways.
10. Student Films - Those studying in schools, colleges and professional institutes are invited to send their
films on any of the themes mentioned above. If you are applying in the Student Film Category, please
dont forget to send a copy of your ID card along with the Entry Form.
11. CSR Films - In the last few years, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has emerged as an important
mechanism for corporate houses to play a socially committed role and help address several societal
challenges through their support and intervention. Films showcasing innovative projects and initiatives
launched under the CSR head, as well as their benefits and success achieved, are invited under this
category.
12. Public Service Advertisements Social advertising campaigns have become a powerful communication
tools in the recent past to inform the public about a social issue. Entries under this category must focus on
an issue of public interest and should not be of duration exceeding 3 minutes.
13. Films on North East North-East constitutes one of the most culturally vibrant, ecologically rich and
socially dynamic parts of the country. At the same the region has witnessed several phases of insurgency
and violence. Films depicting various aspects of life in North-East are invited under this category.
