Worth Of Refined Sugar For Household Consumption
Indonesian society more familiar with sugar on the market as granulated sugar. The industry also using sugar. But it turns sugar that there is a market and are typically used in the industry the food is different. Granulated sugar as we know it in the market is referred to as white sugar while commonly used in the food industry is a refined sugar. So whats difference with refined sugar ? refined sugar is raw sugar which has undergone purification to remove the molasses so the color is white. Refined derived from the refinery which means that distills, filter, cleanse, would not be surprised if very high level of refined sugar purity. Refined sugar is very fulfilling provision of food safety so highly suitable for food and pharmaceutical industries as well as consumed directly. At the beginning of refined sugar can not be produced in the country so needs industry met through imports. Until the year 1996 all the needs of the domestic industry was met through imports of refined sugar. Sugar white domestic production has been sufficient sugar demand in the country because entirely been absorbed by consumption in the country is increasing from year to year. Various efforts have been goverment to increase productivity sugar in the country to meet the needs of the sugar and does not depend continously on sugar imports. But the reality of the national sugar production has been not able to sufficiency in domestic sugar consumption so that imported sugar was still needed. Sugar consumption in Indonesia is always increasing from year to year, especially due to increasing population and dietary changes. This requirement filled with white sugar production in country. However, due to the increase in production insuffficient domestic the drawbacks met through import. It turns out more and more white sugar imports increased from time to time because rise faster than consumption increase in production. It also carries the impact of increased dependence on imports of white sugar. While waiting for self-sufficiency in sugar then the thought of reducing dependence on imports of white sugar through the manufacture of sugar in the country using raw materials of raw sugar. In international market, the price of raw sugar is cheaper than the price white sugar. As known, sugar white or raw sugar together raw material for sugar cane white is a raw sugar that has been further processing. Therefore manufacture of sugar in the country can provide a variety of benefits such as foreign exchange savings and additions jobs. More economical import raw sugar than import of white sugar. This is in line with the goverments policy for increase investment inthe country as stated in the Act Law number 25 of 2007 on Capital Investment. However, for protect the sugarcane farmer and millers existing sugar, the goverment limiting consumption of sugar are made raw sugar. Step are distinguish his name and separating consumers.
Indonesian refined sugar association or AGRI was founded in 2004 consisting of 3
companies that existed at the time, namely PT Angels Products, PT Jawamanis Refined and PT Sentra Usahatama Jaya. Until now, the number of members of the Association Indonesian Refined Sugar has reached eight factories. The existence of these factories have replacing imports of white sugar and as well as fill the void needs sugar that can not be met by mills made from raw cane sugar. GKR production can be carried along year without depending on sugar cane milling season thus ensuring the availability of sugar on an ongoing basis throughtout the year. As a result, sugar prices in the country is not volatile and are not easily tricked middlemen, especially in the run-feasts national. Another positive impact is the growing food industry, beverage and pharmaceutical industries in the country. In addition, the rate of increase in inflantion can be muted, or at least it can be said that sugar is no longer a source of inflantion. Refined sugar production in 2011 reached nearly 2,1 million tons of various sizes crystal grains in accordance with the needs of costumers. Refined sugar packed in sack unit 50 kg and 1 ton with a touch human hand was minimal so that the product the resulting very hygienic. The main costumers are producers of food cake and bread, beverage producers, manufacturers medicine and health supplements, either large industries and small industries as well small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
