GENERAL INFORMATION:
Jackson is a major gateway for millions of tourists visiting nearby Grand Teton National
Park, Yellowstone National Park, and the National Elk Refuge. Jackson is also in
proximity to several ski resorts. On the southeast edge of town there is a relatively small
but challenging ski-area known as Snow King, Jackson's original ski hill. It has steep
vertical slopes and is night-lit. More famous is the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort,
located12 miles (20 km) northwest of Jackson. It opened in 1966, and has abundant
steep terrain and one of the highest vertical drops in North America, at 4,139 feet (1,262
m). Grand Targhee, is about one hour away, on the west side of the Teton Range in
Alta. It opened in 1969, and can be accessed through Idaho over Teton Pass.
POPULATION: 9,577
WEATHER:
The busiest season in Jackson is the summer, particularly in July and August where
visitors can enjoy temps between 70 and 90 degrees. September is still summery in
temperature (besides cold nights), but is quieter. The fall months, October and
November, are unpredictable. Sometimes it snows in mid-October and sometimes the
snow doesn't arrive until December. Winter runs from December through mid-April. It
snows frequently and temps can range from 0 to 30 degrees. Spring, from mid-April
through May, is by far the quietest season of the year. It's known as the mud season
and many locals leave town during this time.

and Albertsons will place each associate in a position that we feel is best for you and the store.

get an additional job while you are in Jackson if you choose. Please remember that Albertsons

museums, galleries, shops and its western character. Summer in Jackson offers many
opportunities to enjoy the outdoors including hiking, camping, photography, scenic and white
water rafting, mountain biking and more.
I look forward to your arrival and sincerely hope this is a memorable and learning experience for
you.
