CONCEPT OF SUJANI
It is a traditional stitch and quilt made in those areas. It is mainly done by stitching
worn out fabric pieces.
Initially Sujani was practiced only by women to decorate their houses in their free
time.

This craft was mostly used at the time of birth of new born, in which mothers or
grandmother used to stitch sujani with vibrant colours to make small quilts and pull
over.
Running stitching was done over the quilts with simple thread.
The design and motifs of the quilt depicted love of the mother for her child.
In todays time this embroidery is done over various fabrics to make sarees , suits ,
bed sheets , Dupattas etc
