Senator Grace Poe was the most prepared candidate according to the author. She effectively used statistics in her responses which made her answers seem neutral. Vice President Binay focused on emphasizing his achievements as mayor of Makati for over 20 decades but did not mention any achievements as Vice President. He also spent more time attacking his opponents than providing solutions. While Senator Miriam displayed intelligence and experience, the author disagreed with her position on lowering estate taxes which would not actually benefit the poor. Mayor Duterte presented himself as fierce but his answers lacked specifics and plans revolved around vague goals of eliminating crime and poverty within 3-6 months. The author hopes for improvements in the next debate.

OPINION ABOUT PILIPINAS DEBATE 2016
I was satisfied by what I have witnessed in the debate. What Senator Miriam said was really true. The debate was neither a personality contest nor a show for entertainment. The debate was a show to educate voters. It was an event that has huge influences on the nation because it allows the candidates to make their impression on such a large audience. As what I have observed, it was Senator Grace Poe who came prepared. She played well with statistics as her response in whatever questions being thrown to her. I really find that method very intelligent because playing with statistics is like being neutral. Roxas said something about choosing a president is like recruiting a family driver: Kung ihahambing natin ang pagpili ng pangulo sa sino ang magmamaneho sa ating mga anak sa araw-araw, kanino natin ipagkakatiwala? Sa taong may kaso, sa taong mainitin ang ulo, sa taong ngayon pa lang natututo magmaneho, o sa taong ni minsan hindi kayo ipinahamak?this statement is like a slap in the face for the other Presidentiables. But well, he needs to appear as if he is suits to be in the position thats why he said that. Throughout the debate, Binay kept on emphasizing the need for a decisive leadership in the government, and would frequently cite his achievements as the leader of Makati for more than two decades. Why is it like that? I mean he only mentioned the achievements as he was the Mayor of Makati, how about his achievements as the Vice President? Is there any? Also, Binay seemed to be more interested on attacking his election opponents and defending himself from allegations than providing concrete solutions to national issues. As for Senator Miriam, her experience and intelligence was very evident in the debate. However, I dont really think her stand about lowering sub-taxes such as estate tax to avoid aggravating the poorer half of the country is the best solution. Only those rich people have estate tax, so I dont think the poor can really benefit from this. Mayor Duterte displayed a fierceness and down-to-earth approach, however, his answers to the issues were too vague. His plans for every issue revolves around his ideal strategy of eradicating crime and poverty in 3 to 6 months.
I hope that in the next debate, there will be no tv advertisement and
there should be an extended talk and better debatable topics so that the people can really criticize on who should be the next President of our country.
