DEFINITION SOLID SIDE - Side of offensive formation to which “Y" man is aligned. FLEX SIDE - Side of offensive formation away from “Y" man alignment GAP DESCRIPTION With each defense, front seven personnel will be responsible for specific offensive gap responsibilities. Gaps are coded as follows: Solid “A” - From center’s nose to nose of.solid guard Solid “B” - From solid guard's nose to nose of solid tackle Solid “C" - From solid tackle’s nose to nose of TE ("Y”) Solid “D" - From nose OF TE (“Y") OUT Flex “A” - From center's nose to nose of flex guard Flex “B" - From flex guard's nose to nose of flex tackle Flex “C" - From flex tackle's nose to nose of TX Flex “D” - From nose of TX out (ALLEY) moe (ALLEY) TRIANGLE THREE GUYS TERMINOLOGY Defender will split the difference between the aa tackle and the #2 receiver.
