The document discusses the components and specifications required for a BOP control system, including accumulators, pumps, and remote control options. It also covers available alarm packages.

A BOP control system requires accumulators to store control fluid, primary and secondary pump systems, and remote controls for operation. The pumps must be able to recharge the system within 15 minutes.

The remote control options discussed are air operated, push button, and touchscreen remotes. Touchscreen remotes provide the most diagnostic features and customization options.

S3 Pumping Systems:
API 16D requires a primary and secondary pump system, The secondary system must get its power source
from a different source than the primary. Normally this is achieved via electric pump as the primary, and
air pumps as the secondary. These systems are typically sized to the requirments set forth by API where
they will be able to re-charge the entire system in less than 15 min, and close the Annular and HCR in less
than 30-45 sec depanding on size. Should you have a alternate electrical buss and desire two independent
electrical pumps please specify in this section.

S4 Accumulator bottles:
CPC sizes their bottles to the calculations determined above. Bladder material is determined
by the tempature outlined above. All bladders are 3,000 Psi working pressure separator Bladder type
accumulators. The accumulator shell is manufactured from a single piece of chrome molybdenum steel
and is free from joints, seams or welds. The accumulator assembled is tested to 4,500 Psi. These vessels
meet USCG, API and other agency requirements. Accumulators are provided with ASME U-1A certificates
and may be certified by other agencies when requested at time of order.
CPC's Standard offering are of the Bottom Loading type. Please specify if top loading are required.

Remote Operation of BOP Control Systems

There are basically 3 types of remote control for your BOP system. Air Operated, Push Button, and
Touchscreen. Each has its own advantages, as well as different variations. Section S5 covers the
fundamentals all remotes have in common. S6-

S5 Each basic remote package includes the following standard functions:

Remote operation of each BOP function (Annular, Pipe rams, Blind Rams, HCR's)
Visual display of Annular, Manifold, and Accumulator Pressures. (Air pressure on air Remotes)
2 Handed operation, by means of Master permissive operator
Connection Assembly to interface with umbilicals and\or cables
Bypass override of manifold pressure (High\Low)
Up to 150' of umbilicals and\or cables
S6 Common additions are: (Please check if feature is desired)
Annular pressure increase\ decrease
Remote status indication of valves (red=close green=open) (STD on pushbutton\touchscreens)
Alarms (See Section S8)
Additional lengths on umbilicals (Please specify in feet)
Diverter auto sequencing function

S7 Typical remote control options (Check option desired):

Air Remote Operation
This type of remote is the least complex of all the options. It is easily troubleshooted in the
field. The air umbilicals are bulky, and need to have gaskets. Not ideal for colder environments.
These are free standing but take the greatest amount of space.
Pushbutton Type Remote
These are second generation plc type remotes. Available in Class 1 Div 1 or 2 and safe area.
Their compact design typically 24"x24"x8", can be easily mounted anywhere on the drill floor.
Indiction of valve status is standard, and alarms can be added with out additional connections.
Standard lamp test function is included for testing of bulbs.(LED's Available upon request)
Graphics available but limited to one configuration. 2 hour battery back up standard
Siemens HMI Touchscreen Remote
These are the newest of our remotes, and are the most requested. Available in Class 1 Div 2,
or safe area. These remotes have the most diagnostic features available, as well as multiple
BOP stack selection eliminating unused options from the selected screen. Operator
is informed on multiple alarm conditions with little or no additonal cost. Alarms include
Low Accumulator, Low air, Low tank level, Low manifold, Motor running, Back up power alarm.
CPC offers several different communication protocols allowing our system to interface with other
systems on the rig if desired. Two handed operation is standard as well as confirmation screens
for Blind\ Shear functions preventing accidental operation.
Custom BOP stack configurations are eaisly programed into the HMI to meet any BOP stack
configuration.

NEW Siemens Wireless HMI Touchscreen Remote

This is the newest upgade to our signature touchscreen remote. Typically added
to the Toolpusher remote, no cables are needed between the remote and the unit. This increases
down time during rig moves as well as eliminates damage to cables ran across the pad.
A back up cable is supplied, for times that radio silence might be required. Some customers
to use this as the primary connection, and have the radios in place as a form of redundancy.
Either way there are checks internally to notify user in loss or delay in communication.
S8 CPC Alarm Packages for air remotes
Option 1
Basic Alarm package Available on all remotes
This Alarm Package includes up to 3 alarms. Indepentent pilot lights for alarms are
mounted on alarm panel, as well as one flashing beacon and horn for all three alarms.
An alarm reset will cause the horn to silence, but the beacon and pilot lights will continue
until alarm is cleared. (Alarms include Low Oil Level, Low Accumulator Pressure, & Motor Run)
Adder (a) for Option 1
Check this adder if you would like a beacon and horn on the remote control. (Alarm ack included)
Adder (b) for Option 1
Check this adder if you would like a horn on the remote control, as well as
3 independent pilot lights for each individual alarm. (Alarm silence included)

Option 2
Custom Alarm package Limited on Push button remotes, and Air remotes,
Fully available on Touchscreens
Due to enclosure size alarm indication is limited on pushbutton & Air remotes, but all alarms can tie
to a general flashing beacon mounted on the Unit as well as remotes. Please review the options
below and CPC's in house panel shop can provide you with all the alarm sensors that you require.
Touchscreen remotes can have limitless remote indication, utilizing pop up style Alarm menu
informing operator of any possible conditions that could interupt drilling.
