You will receive an e-mail indicating the Speaking test schedule one week before the exam. If you have
not received the notification e-mail three days before the exam, please contact Examinations Services as
soon as possible.

WHAT TO DO ON THE EXAM DAY
The Listening, Reading and Writing Test
Be at the exam venue at 8:00 AM to complete the pre-test registration process;
The exam starts at exactly 9:00 AM; If you arrive after the exam has started you will not be
allowed to take the exam, you are considered absent and your test fee is forfeited
The Speaking Test
The speaking test is usually scheduled before the written test. A week from the test date, you
will receive a call from the British Council to inform you of your speaking test schedule and
venue.
No calls received would mean you will have it either on the same day of the written exams, or
afterwards. Check the time and location of the speaking test during the written exams as
indicated in the desk label and white boards at the test venue after the written tests.

Should you be scheduled for the Advance Speaking Test, you shall undergo a candidate
identity verification process. In this procedure, a photo of you shall be taken, which will appear
on your IELTS Test Report Form.
Please Note:

Know when and where the exam is taking place. Forgetting or not checking the location
and schedule cannot be used as a reason to be absent in the IELTS test.

REMINDERS ON EXAMINATION DAY


Bring the same original (not photocopied) identification card you used when you registered for
the test.
The identification must be valid at the time of registration and exam day. Passports with punch
holes are considered invalid, regardless of expiry date. Presenting a renewed passport is not
allowed. Ensure that validity of identification is later than test date.

You are not allowed to bring personal belongings (e.g. mobile phones, camera, other electronic
equipment, handbags, envelopes, plastic bags etc) inside the exam room.
You will be required to leave your personal belongings in the baggage area. The British Council
will not be liable for any losses.
Parking is usually available at or near test venues; but the British Council will not be responsible
for any parking related fees which you may incur.
TEST DAY CANDIDATE FLOWCHART
1. Arrive at the test venue 8:00am for the Test Day Registration.

3. Leave your belongings at the Baggage Area.
4. Register using your Passport/ National ID Card. Bring only the authorised items inside the test
room.
5. Have your photo and finger scan taken at the Photograph Section, if you did not have an
Advanced Speaking Test. Have your photo and finger scan verified if you have already had
your Advance Speaking Test.
6. Exams start at 9am and end around 12 noon.
7. Check your Desk Label for:

8. If you did not have your Advance Speaking Test, proceed to the Speaking Test Venue.
9. Interview begins.
WHEN TO EXPECT THE RESULT

Results are released 13 calendar days after the exam. Online results will be available by
10:00 AM.
If a representative will be claiming your IELTS result on your behalf, he or she will be required
to present the following: authorisation letter with signature, original or photocopy of a valid ID
of the candidate and the original ID of the authorised representative.

If you opted for your results to be mailed to your preferred address, but you cannot personally
receive it; ensure that you leave an Authorization Letter and a photocopy of your valid ID to
the representative. The representative shall likewise be asked to present a valid ID upon
receipt of the results.

REQUEST FOR REFUND/ TEST DATE TRANSFER

Candidates who seek to cancel their registration or transfer test dates within the five-week
period prior to the test will only be allowed to do so if they can satisfy to the Administrator that
their ability to sit the test has been affected by serious cases which include: illness (hospital
admission, serious injury), loss or bereavement, hardship or trauma and military service.

Candidates applying for refund/ test date transfer should complete a Request for Refund or
Test Date Transfer and attach appropriate documentation and/or evidence.

If a candidates application is approved, the centre will deduct an Administrative Fee of 25 %


from the test fee for refund; and will charge a transfer fee of Php 1,000.00 for test date
transfer.

PREPARE FOR YOUR TEST


Our IELTS Resource Centre (IRC) has a range of IELTS Practice Materials that you can use free of charge
until the day of your exam. This is an added service for candidates who register to take the IELTS exam
with the British Council. The IRC is open from 9:00am to 4:00pm, Mondays to Saturdays. You will have to
bring your receipt and an ID when you want to use this facility.
