EquipmentNumber:Differentlettersareusedfordifferentequipmentsfollowedby3digitnumber.Firstnumber
is same as the number of P & ID and next two are sequential number for the equipment. eg. CP101.The first
letter shows name of the plant and second letter shows name of equipment. Different letters used for different
equipmentsare

2.Flows:MostoftheflowsinP&IDsenterfromleftorrightanddirectionofflowisshownattheend.Thearrowatthe
endalsoshowsthenumberoforiginatingequipmentandnumberoforiginatingP&ID.Flowdirectioninalllinesis
shownwithasmallarrow.
3.LineNumber:Eachlineisgivenauniquenumberandwrittenabovetheline.Ithas4partsseparatedby.ItisLine
sizeServiceFluidLinenumberMaterialSpecification.3digitnumber.Firstnumberoflinenumberissameasthe
