Lt. Col. José Enrique de la Peña's narrative contains nearly 700 pages relating his
version of the events of the Texas Revolution, plus additional research materials
documenting the Mexican army's campaign in Texas. De la Peña witnessed some
of the most dramatic moments during the final assault on the Alamo on March 6,
1836, including the death of William B. Travis during the battle and the capture and
execution of Davy Crockett by Gen. Antonio López de Santa Anna.
