a three-hit shutout to record his first major
league win as the Expos edged the Phillies.
Ron Hunt tripled to open the bottom of the
first inning for Montreal, and scored the
games only run on Rusty Staubs single .
Loser Chris Short (1-2) held Montreal to one
run in seven innings.

CINCINNATI Ray Sadecki tossed a sixhit shutout with seven strikeouts as the Mets
blanked the Reds.
Sadecki (1-0) has thrown 15 1/3 consecutive
scoreless innings to open the season. Cincinnati was shut out just once last year.
Sadecki broke a scoreless tie with a sacrifice
fly in the top of the fifth inning. Tommie Agee
added an RBI single in the ninth. Reds starter
Tony Cloninger (0-1) allowed one run in seven
innings and took the loss.
