Customer benefits
Cost-efficient, quantity controlled system
Small and compact system design
Easy compliance with todays emission regulations
Easy integration into existing and new Indian
engine series
Further cost reduction possible by replacing the
rail with the Fuel Distributor Block, or in case of
the CRS1-14UP FPC by omitting the metering unit
Low fuel consumption with subsequent
reduction of CO2 output
Considerably increased efficiency compared to
a system controlled by a pressure control valve
Long-term stability of injection quantity
Also suitable for critical fuel qualities

demands of the Indian market, while at the same time

making use of available, internationally established
Bosch technology. Bosch ensures that the CRS1-14UP
is a cost-efficient system solution by producing all
components directly in India.
Possible applications
The CRS1-14UP has been specifically developed for
low-price diesel engines in passenger car and light
duty applications in the Indian market with up to
two cylinders (FPC) or four cylinders (FCU).

Applications

India: low-price

The fuel is distributed to the injectors via a highpressure rail. With one- or two-cylinder engines
the system costs can be reduced by using a Fuel
Distributor Block with an integrated rail pressure
sensor. The CRS1-14UP is operated as a quantity
controlled one-controller system by means of the
Fuel Control Unit (FCU).
The system does not only consist of cost-efficient
components, but it also helps reduce operating costs
due to its hydraulic efficiency which results in fuel

efficiency.
With two-cylinder engines the CRS1-14UP FPC system
variant applies an additional module for demand

controlled actuation of the feed pump. This allows to

omit the metering unit as well.

3

The solenoid controlled injector is capable of up

to three single injections per cycle. This enables
very efficient and clean combustion of the diesel
fuel.

Outlook
Bosch engineers are already involved in the
evolutionary development of this system in
order to comply with future Indian emission
standards.
