TIMING. The Contest begins at 08:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) on August
5, 2015 and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on September 28, 2015 (Contest Period).
3.
TO ENTER. All entrants must register for the Island Run by completing the
registration form available at http://islandrun.boston.com/ before registration is full
and no later than 11:59 p.m. ET on September 25, 2015 (Close of Registration)
(whichever comes first). The registration fee is $50. Registrants may choose to
run five miles, run five kilometers, or be a spectator of the event. In addition, the
following entry requirements apply:

Largest Team. Entrants must register for the Island Run as Captains of a
team and encourage other participants to register for his/her team before
registration is full and no later than the Close of Registration (whichever
comes first).

Social Butterfly. Entrants must post on Instagram and Twitter about the
Island Run, using the hashtags #IslandRun15 AND #contest and the handle
@GlobeEvents in each post. Posts must be made during the Contest Period.
Only Qualifying Posts, as defined in Paragraph 4, will be considered.
Entrants may enter to win in one or more of the categories listed above, and are
eligible to win in more than one category. An entrants registration information,
along with content posted pursuant to Paragraph 3(C) (if applicable), is referred to
as the Entry.
4.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS.

Contest Integrity. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to (a)
reject,
disqualify, or
modify
any Entry
without
explanation,
(b) verify any element of any Entry or related materials, and
(c) disqualify any entrant whose participation does not comply with the
Official Contest Rules, Twitter or Instagram terms of use, or Island Run rules
and policies, or any entrant whose participation may subject the Contest,
Sponsor, Blue Cross Blue Shield, or Sponsors advertisers, clients, or
customers to controversy, negative publicity, scorn, and/or ridicule.
Winner is not an official winner (Winner) until Sponsor receives his/her Affidavit of
Eligibility and notifies him/her that he/she is a Winner.
6. JUDING CRITERIA. Selection of Winners in each category will be based on the
following criteria ("Judging Criteria"):
A.
Largest Team. The entrant with the most registered participants on his/her
team at the end of the Contest Period will be the Potential Winner. In the
event of a tie, the entrant whose team averages the fastest time for the
Island Run 5 mile and 5 kilometer runs will be deemed the Potential Winner.
B.
Top Influencer. The entrant whose referral code is used by the greatest
number of registrants for the Island Run will be the Potential Winner. In the
event of a tie, the entrant who averages the fastest time per mile/kilometer
for the Island Run 5 mile or 5 kilometer run will be deemed the Potential
Winner.
C.
Social Butterfly.
The entrant who publishes the greatest number of
qualifying posts on Instagram and Twitter during the Contest Period will be
the Potential Winner. Likes, votes, and reposts will not be considered, except
that, in the event of a tie, the entrant whose posts receive the greatest
number of reposts and retweets will be deemed the Potential Winner.
7. PRIZES. Winners will receive the following prizes (collectively, the Prizes):
A.
Largest Team Prize. The Winner in the Largest Team category will receive
20 adult day passes to the New England Aquarium. The approximate retail
value of the Largest Team Prize is $539 USD.
B.
Top Influencer & Social Butterfly Prizes. Winners in the Top Influencer
and Social Butterfly categories will each receive a prize package that includes
(a) one overnight stay for two in a standard room at The Colonnade hotel in
Boston, (b) a $150 voucher for dinner for two at Brasserie JO (not valid for
purchase of alcohol), and (c) a parking voucher for the parking garage at The
Colonnade. Expires 9/30/2016. The approximate retail value of each prize
package is $500 USD.
Contest and use of the Prizes. Winners must comply with all applicable third party
terms and conditions related to the redemption and use of the Prizes.
Winners may not substitute, assign, or transfer the Prizes or redeem the Prizes for
cash. Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes, as
well as any other costs, expenses, and gratuities associated with the Prizes.
Winners forfeit any unused portions of the Prizes. The awarding of any Prize is
contingent on full compliance with these Official Rules. If a Winner is found to have
violated the Official Rules or does not meet eligibility criteria, that Winners Prize
will be deemed forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner.
8. PRIVACY AND PUBLICITY. Except where legally prohibited, by entering and
providing the required entry information, Entrant consents (a) to be photographed
by or on behalf of the Sponsor and permits Sponsor, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and
their parent corporations, subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, and assigns and (b) to
the use of the Entry, Entrants name, likeness, photograph, and city or town of
residence, in all media, throughout the World, in perpetuity, and for any purpose
(including advertising, publicity, and/or trade purposes), without notice to Entrant
and without further compensation.
Entrants further grant to Sponsor and Blue Cross Blue Shield a license to use
materials and information that are submitted, collected, or used in connection with
the Contest, including, without limitation, their personally identifiable information
and social media posts and photographs (Entrant Materials) in all media,
throughout the World, in perpetuity, and for any purpose (including advertising,
publicity, and/or trade purposes), without notice to Entrants and without further
compensation. Entrants agree that Sponsor and Blue Cross Blue Shield may use
the Entrant Materials in combination with such other material as Sponsor in its sole
discretion shall determine, and that Entrants have no right of approval, claim to
compensation or benefits claim, including without limitation, claims based upon
invasion of privacy, defamation, or right of publicity arising out of any use of
Entrant Materials. Entrants represent and warrant that they have the right and
authority to grant the license as described above.
9. RELEASE. Released Parties (as defined below) are not responsible for lost, late,
incomplete, damaged, inaccurate, stolen, delayed, misdirected, or undelivered, or
garbled entries or email for whatever cause or other errors whether human,
mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise
relating to or in connection with the Contest. Released Parties are also not
responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by
tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or
utilized in the Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to
participants' or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from
not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages and further
waive all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
WINNERS NAME. For the name of the Winners, send a self-addressed stamped
envelope to: Island Run Contest, ATTN: Devin Smith, Media Lab, Boston Globe
Media Partners LLC, 135 Morrissey Blvd., Boston, MA 02125. Requests for Winner
names must be received no later than 60 days from the Winner selection date
described in Paragraph 3.
