1. Through 74 balwadis, 1993 rural children
were nurtured. In all the balwadis, Malt along
with hygienically prepared highly nutritive
lunch with vegetables were served during the
day and in the evening vitamin-rich cereals
were provided to the children.
2. During this year 145 cultural competitions
were held. 1,282 schools 20,870 students
1,186 teachers and 1473 parents participated
in the programmes.
3. 7,212 students participated in the cultural
examinations from 186 Higher Secondary
Schools.
4. 29,900 students from 124 colleges studied
the books on the Ramayana, Indian Culture
and lives and teachings of Sri Ramakrishna /
Swami Vivekananda.

28 School Teachers and 2 Lecturers
participated in the essay competitions on the
topic of Public buildings as expressions
of collective social consciousness of the
people - from the times of Karikalan who
built Kallanai across Kaveri to Eknathji
Ranade who built the Vivekananda Rock
Memorial.

In 28 places lectures on the Gita and
chanting of Gita verses were held. 1170
participated.

Cultural conferences were held in 6
places 726 children were involved from 197
weekly cultural classes which trained 7,604
children.

225 monthly deepa poojas attracted
10,650 women.

13. Under Amritha Surabhi Scheme, our
Kendra workers collected 28,418 Kgs of rice
from five districts.
14. 8 Anna poojas were performed in southern
five districts of Tamilnadu and 3160 devotees
participated in the function. 1, 04,965 kgs of
rice was collected.
15. Through various branch centers including
Thoothukudi Admn. Office, Book stalls, Books
worth Rs. 14,34,225/- were sold.
16. 4 Tailoring units are functioning well in
Tirunelveli & Thoothukudi districts with a total
attendance of 81.
17. Hand pumps were erected with the
financial assistance of Yogoda Satsang
Samiti, Ranchi, in Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi,
Ramnad and Viruthunagar in 5 villages.
18. Mathru Pooja was conducted in all
districts in 7 different places where 264
parents participated.
VKV Kanyakumari
The student strength of the school was
1644 with 56 teaching and 11 non-teaching
staff. There was centum result in class X
and XII. The highest scores were 495/500
and 1170/1200 in respective examinations.

development of the students the school
has different vibhags: Vignana, Ganit,

vibhags 57 programmes were held to
enhance various skills of the pupils. Various
national, regional, cultural festivals (20) were
celebrated in the school. The notable
programme was the Kumari Nuclear Science
Meet-2014 on 24th and 25th November. The
programme was sponsored by the
Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant in which 30
schools from Kanyakumari district
participated and 38 schools visited the
science exhibition. Students made a mark in
winning various prizes at different levels in the
district. 42 Engineering Students from USA
visited the school and participated in the
cultural programme.
VKV Vallioor
With a student strength of 1502 having 55
teaching and 14 non-teaching staff. The
pass percentage in class X was 100 with
highest marks of 96%. Class XII has 96%
pass. To ensure all round personality
development of the students the school
has different vibhags: Vignana, Ganit,
Tarka, Srujani, Lalitakala, Paryavaran and
Kreeda. Under these vibhags 57
programmes were held to enhance various
skills of the pupils. Under these vibhags 20

regional, cultural festivals (17) were
celebrated in the school. The notable
programme was the mammoth procession
on 19th November and 12th Jan 2015. Two
students R Purushottaman and R Suman

participants on compressed earth block
technology. Two training programmes
were held on 'vernacular architecture' in
which 83 participated. 182 participated
in 3 water management and sanitation
workshops. 30 participated in a
Workshop on Sustainable Agriculture,

Propagation / Technology workshops,
286 participated in 9 Workshops on Biomanure production and 72 participated
in two Capacity Building for Adaption of
Technology (CAT) programmes.
96 rural doctors participated in a
seminar on siddha visha vaidya
practices. 382 persons participated in 7
seminars on Siddha Varma Bone setting

NAGERCOIL
The centre celebrated all 5 Utsavas :
Gurupoornima, Universal Brotherhood Day,
Sadhana Divas, Gita Jayanti and Samarth
Bharath Parva (Swami Vivekananda Jayanti)
at 19 places in which 4810 persons
participated. The centre enrolled 5 patrons
and subscribers each. Rs. 14,000/- worth
literature was sold during various events. The
branch orgnised 8 various shibirs in which 447
participated. There are 4 samskara vargas
with an attendance of 80 students. As part of
Mananeeya Eknathji Janma Shati
Parva 'Safal yuva Yuva Bharat'
programmes were held for 170
students in 7 colleges.
MADURAI
The centre celebrated Sadhana
Divas and Samarth Bharath Parva
(Swami Vivekananda Jayanti) at 2
places in which 225 people
participated. The centre enrolled 2
patrons and Rs. 16,330/- worth
literature was sold. Safal Yuva-Yuva
Bharat programmes were held in 7
colleges and 2000 students
participated and orgnised a
residential Yuva Prashikshan shibir
for 43 youth. In three karyapaddhatis 37
persons participated.
Vivekananda Kendra Prakashan Trust
(VKPT)
The Trust brings out 2 monthly magazines:
Yuva Bharati and Vivekavani apart from the
half-yearly thematic magazine Vivekananda
Kendra Patrika with an overall subscriber
numbering 17,838. During the year VKPT
produced 94,262 diaries and 42,320
calendars having inspiring messages of
Swami Vivekananda. VKPT reprinted 21
books numbering 1,02,550 copies. VKPT also
brought out 3 new publications numbering
7,000 along with 65,000 brouchers. VKPT
printed 1,00,000 Mananeeya Eknathji Janma
Shati Parva special postal covers. Audio and
Video CDs numbering 8,000 were made
available. 1300 Various picture panels were
also sold.

VK CHENNAI The centre celebrated all 5

participated. A Karyakarta prashikshan shibir
was organized at Kanyakumari from 1st to 4th

Vikas camps for children, varieties of
religious and other celebrations,
service activities, orientation
programmes, satsanghs and
seminars for dissemination of
knowledge play their important roles
Atma vikas camps for children
stressed on discipline, environmental
awareness and above all their
personality development. Safal Yuva
camp and Destination IAS camp
explored ways and means of
achieving excellence in all
endeavours. Upholding our country's
rich spiritual and varied cultural
heritage, religious and national
festivals were celebrated providing
new insights. Pride of place goes to
Vivekananda Jayanthi and Sri Krishna
Jayanthi celebrations which also
helped to bring competitive spirit
among children. Many of these celebrations
were used as an occasion to interact with the
have-nots in the society, as in the case of
Onam celebration.
Regular Samskara,
Swadhya, and Yoga Vargas helped to
improve the general level of knowledge about
our spiritual heritage.
As part of Jnana Yoga, classes were held on
Lalitha Sahasranama and seminars on Yoga
and education. The annual Bhagavata
Saptah was designed to help people elevate
Bhakti into Jnana.
On19th November VKVVF arranged a
Smarananjali for Man. Eknathji. Sri R. Hari
was the Chief Guest. He recalled his
unforgettable association with Man. Eknathji
in moving terms.
Samuhika Suryanamaskar conducted on 25th
January helped to create a new yogic
awareness among the public. For the first
time, a teachers' orientation camp was
conducted for 24 nursery teachers under the
expert guidance of Smt. Madhavi Tai of Nasik
which opened new possibilities of imparting
knowledge.
One notable programme of the year was our
participation in the Walk of Hope of Sri M who
graced Ananda Dham for two days during his
Bharat Yatra.

The sumum bonum of these activities is the
actualization of the Vivekananda Vedic
Vision, which has transformed Ananda Dham
into an abode of Happiness, where men,
women and children seeking an escape from
the turmoil of worldly lives find a haven of
solace and peace.
TELUGU PRANT
Mananeeya Eknathji Janma Shati Parva was
inaugurated on 29th Nov at Hyderabad. Hon.
Justice B. Subhashan Reddy, Lokayukta for
the States of AP & Telangana, was the Chief
Guest. Justice (retd) CV Ramulu, National

youth participated in 3 Yuva Prashikshan
shibirs.
Four Telugu books on Vivekananda Rock
Memorial, Swami Vivekananda and Eknathji
Shila Smaaraka Kathaa, Hindu Jaatiki
Vivekananduni Melkolupu,
Karyakartaala
Vikaasaniki Diksoochikalu, Visista
Vyaktitvam Eknathji were also released on
the occasion. These are the first four books
published by the recently launched
Vivekananda Kendra Telugu Prachurana
Vibhag. Lecture cum discussions under
Vimarsh on Dharma was held on 19th and
20th January. The speakers were Smt Aruna
Devi and Acharya Kasireddy Venkatareddy.
Kendra Utsavas were celebrated at different
places in the prant.
ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS
There are nine schools in which 3,605 students
and 202 teaching and non teaching staff are
engaged in the educational service.
A Band camp for 12 days was conducted from
4th May to 15th May. Sri Govind Vishwakarma of
VKVAPT coordinated the camp. A total of 96
children drawn from VKV Port Blair and VKZPV
Portmout this camp attended.
Sri Hardik Mehta and Smt Kalpana Mehta
trained our staff to develop websites during 3rd
to 13th August. A one day Teachers Orientation
camp was held on 23rd and 27th Aug for
teachers of all nine vidyalayas. Dr N
Gopalakrishnan, an eminent scientist and
Sanskrit Scholar took classes.
A 15 day 'Yuvajanotsav' events consisting of
Sports, cultural activities, Quiz, Songs,
Drawing etc competitions were held in all the 9
Schools. The concluding programme was held
in Port Blair. The first among the Great
Andamanese had completed his class XII.
VKV Port Blair
The School has a total strength of 1383
Students and 62 teaching and Non teaching
Staff on its roll. In the CBSE class X Exam of
2014 the School had 101 students and has
achieved 100% result with 4 CGPA 10. In
CBSE Class XII exam 72 students in science
group and 12 students in commerce Group
appeared in the examination.

The school has a total of 273 Students

staff on its Roll.In the CBSE class X
examination of 2014 the School had
29 students and has achieved 100%
result with 5 CGPA 10. VKV HUTBAY
has a total of 103 Students and 10
teaching and Non teaching staff on its
Roll.
MYSORE
1020 first grade college students
from 19 colleges and 1441 High
school students from 7 high schools
wrote examination on Life and
Message of Swami Vivekananda. 10
day personality development camp
was held from 3rd April to 12th April
2014. 43 students participated in the
camp. 2 one Day camps were held in
the month of January 2015 for 200 students.
10 Day Sanskrit sambhashana shibirs were
organized in April and December for 58
students. 26 persons from Mysore attended
Kendra parichay shibir on 25th May 2014. 15
students participated in a 4 day Samskara
varga prashikshan shibir conducted at
Ajjampura, Chikamagalur district. On 61
patrons from Mysore attended patrons meet
on 11th jan. 714 students from 39 high schools
and 7 colleges participated in various inter
school and college cultural competitions at 8
places. 1364 students from 42 schools and 19
colleges participated in competitions held as
part of Samarth Bharat Parva. Large number
of public participated in various Utsavas.
Yoga varga is attended by 128
people, weekly Samskara Varga at 5
places is being attended by 165
children. Anandalaya- non formal
education center caters to 48
students from class 1 to IX.
VKV KALLUBALU
VKV celebrated five Utsavas of
Vivekananda Kendra viz. Guru
Poornima, Universal Brotherhood
