    Scope of the Position


    The Intern would be responsible for designing, coding and modifying websites, from layout to function and in accordance
    with a client's specifications. The role involves understanding both graphic design and computer programming. The intern
    would also be involved in the maintenance and update of an existing site. It is expected that there will be a need to test
    websites at different stages of design on variety of different devices.

    Summary of Key Functions


    1-

    Draw up detailed website specifications.

    2-

    Convert raw images and layouts from a graphic designer into CSS/XHTML themes.

    3-

    Develop innovative and re-useable web based tools for activism and community building.

    4-

    Search engine optimization.

    5-

    Look for new technologies which support existing infrastructure.

    6-

    Placement and layout of web site pages according to content provided.

    7-

    Test the website and identify any technical problems.

    8-

    Register web sites with search engines to increase web site traffic.

    9-

    Create web models or prototypes that include physical, interface, logical, or data models.

    10- Maintain web sites, using authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital
    media.

    Intern is required to be a BS(CS) student preferably a sophomore/junior year


    student.

    Strong knowledge about CSS/HTML/Java-Scripts/PHP etc.

    A solid understanding of web application development processes, from the


    layout/user interface to relational database structures.

    4-

    A good knowhow about the benefits and techniques of SEO.

    5-

    Must have a flair for creativity and imagination.

    6-

    Complex problem solving and critical thinking skills.

    7-

    Strong organization skills to manage multiple timelines and complete tasks quickly
    within the constraints.

    8-

    Sound skills in graphic designing and scripting the web pages.
