A degree qualified Mechanical Engineer with 9 years experience in the following fields: refurbishment of sub-sea
equipment, maintenance of pipelay equipment, installation of process plants, mining, shaft sinking, and the automotive
industry.

Responsible for:
As Lead Project Engineer is responsible for own projects and for overseeing projects by others.
Liaise with client / asset manager to confirm requirements and specifications are confirmed, understood and met.
Comply with the OOS Business Management System (BMS) at all times.
Drawing up of planning schedules to suit activities.
Daily control of project financial spreadsheets and ensuring adherence to the Project Management Plans.
Ensure that the projects have adequate Health, Safety, Environment & Security (HSE&S) and quality controls in place
and are implemented accordingly and continually throughout life of the project.
Monitor sub-contractors’/suppliers’ progress schedule / reports and intervene as requirements to keep their work on
schedule.
Advise the Project Manager or Pipelay Systems Manager of foreseeable contractual, commercial and technical
problems that may arise.
Assist in the management and technical responsibility (as appropriate) including design reviews, installation
supervision, and commissioning and handover documentation.
Provide technical support to internal client after hand over of project deliveries.
Writing and checking of technical documents such as procedures, specifications, calculations, work packs, etc.
Carry out surveys of existing equipment /assets.
Review existing and new equipment / operation manuals within Technical Library.
Provide technical, contractual and commercial advice to other inter-department project teams as required.
Assist the Project Manager in the provision of detailed reports including schedule, progress, technical completion,
variations and cost control on a minimum of a monthly basis.
Typical Projects:
Involvement in the development of subsea swivel for pipe follower, c/w pressure equalization.
Upgrade and modification of general pipelay equipment, i.e. MWP’s, tensioner units, carousel spooling arm, winches,
HPU’s, etc.
Feasibility study for the increase of vessel pipelay capacity.

Typical projects range from stripping down, to component parts, of various subsea equipment ranging from Xmas
trees, LRP’s, EDP, etc then inspection and issuing of detailed survey reports and also re-assembly and testing to client
FAT and SIT procedures.
Also the fabrication of new Xmas Tree Guide frames, protection structures, etc.

Site Engineer – Skanska Cementation Mining Pty Ltd Sept. 2001 – March 2004
Responsible for:
Site Engineer on several different projects.
Was legally responsible for all maintenance and repairs to all winders and winches on surface and underground as per
Government Mining Specifications.
Producing and drawing up of several job-specific procedures and scopes of work.
Responsible for ensuring maintenance and servicing of all major underground trackless machinery in accordance with
very specific maintenance schedule.
As production numbers are dependent on availability of machinery, breakdown reports were issued directly to Mining
Manager.
Over a six month period increased average availability of machinery from 93% to 97%.
Developing effective training programmes in conjunction with other departments in the company.
Responsible for reliability & availability reports to the client.
