Question tags are the short questions that we put on the end of sentences particularly in
spoken English. There are lots of different question tags but the rules are not difficult to learn.
Positive/negative
If the main part of the sentence is positive, the question tag is negative .
... and if the main part of the sentence is negative, the question tag is positive.
With I am
Be careful with question tags with sentences that start I am. The question tag for I am is

Questions tags are used to keep a conversation going. You can agree or refuse to a sentence
with a question tag.
Possible answers are Yes or No. If you use Yes, do not use contracted forms. If you use No,
contracted form are possible.

4. Special points
4.1. Although the negative word not is not in the sentence, the sentence
can be negative. Then we use the positive question tag.
4.2. If have is a main verb in the sentence and refers to states, there are
two possible sentences We have a car, _____?
Yes, we must.
