GUIDELINES FOR PROJECT WORK

MMS SEMESER IV
1. A student shall submit two copies of the project report. One hard bound (Black cover with
golden embossing) copy & One Spiral bound copy.
2. Copies shall be bound in accordance with the following specifications:a) Size of the paper- A4 Size.
b) A margin of 1 1/2 inches to be left on the left hand side 1 inch on remaining three sides
and to be bound in a standardized form.
c) Every page shall be numbered (Right bottom)
d) It should be typed with double spacing, on only one side of paper in Times New Roman,
font size 12 (main text) & title in Times New Roman, font size 12 bold.
3. Sequence to be followed for the project is as follows

Title of the project (same as cover page of black bound book, see format I)
Certificate (if live project then company certificate also attached )
Certificate (as per format II)
Declaration (as per format III)
Acknowledgment ( thanks to those helped you in project)
Index ( as per format IV)
Executive summary (brief of project ,method used, result and conclusion of project ,not more
than one page)

Chapter I: Introduction ( 10 marks)

Introduction for the Project( If live project - introduction of company,product, History and
about the topic) ( If it is library project then introduction of topic , history , current trend )
Importance of project (Definitions of terms used, why you have selected this problem/project
for study, mention how reader will benefit)
Statement of problem(state problem you are studying)
Objective (State minimum 02 to maximum 05 objectives of your study)

Chapter II: Literature Review ( 10 marks)

Review of Literature (refer to studies completed by researchers related to problem/topic


which will make your study more stronger. You may review books, journals etc. This will help
you for Bibliography )

Chapter III: Methodology of Study ( 20 marks)

Data collection method, tool and techniques used for analysis, formulae used
Sample size, how you have selected sample

Chapter IV: Data Analysis ( 20 marks)


Analysis of the data (analysis of collected data, tables/graphs, comments/observations on
each data analysed etc )
Chapter V: Conclusions & Recommendations ( 15 marks)
Recommendation ( based on data analysis and observations to solve problem studied by
you)
Conclusion (wrapping up of topic by highlighting points where you want to draw once again
attention of the reader)
Appendix OR Annexure
Supporting documents which have direct/indirect relation with problem/study eg. Forms, survey
reports, questionnaire, maps, pictures etc.
Bibliography
Books, Journal, Magazines, Newspapers Website etc which text is not included as it is but referred
while doing project
4. Evaluation Parameters:
The Project work in the area of specialisation will carry 100 marks, to be allocated as under:
Situation Analysis & Problem Definition
Literature Review (Secondary Data)
Methodology of Study
Data Analysis
Conclusions & Recommendations
Guides assessment of project progress of student.
