Joseph Jensen
Jensen has attended Civil Air Patrols Region Staff College, Inspector
Generals College, National Staff College and the Region/Wing
Commanders course. Colonel Jensen served for four years as the Vice
Commander of Arkansas Wing prior to his appointment as the Arkansas
Wing Commander. The Colonel was subsequently reassigned early to the
position of Vice Commander of Southwest Region, and assumed command
of the Southwest Region in June, 2007.
His CAP awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal,
the Meritorious Service Award with two bronze clasps and the Brig. Gen.
Charles E. Chuck Yeager Aerospace Achievement Award. The Colonel
also holds CAPs highest academic award the Gill Rob Wilson Award.
Professionally, Colonel Jensen is an Associate Professor of Surgery in the
University of Arkansas College of Medicine. He is the Associate Chief
Medical Officer of the UAMS Medical Center and the Program Director of
the UAMS Surgery Residency Program. Colonel Jensen is board certified
in general surgery and surgical critical care. He holds fellowship in the
American College of Surgeons, and is a member of the American College of
Healthcare Executives.
Colonel Jensen resides in Little Rock, Arkansas with his wife Ashley and
son Tyler.
