    It's Time to Get Up

    1... I know you have heard the story many times about Lazarus, but I remind you it is a story
    about New Life
    2... In this text, we see what Jesus did for Lazarus. But, we can also see what He can do for you
    and I.
    3... He can take someone who is dead, and give them life.
    4... He can take someone who has been dead long enough to be stinking and put life in them and
    make them begin to smell good again.
    Illustration:
    5... If you don't believe in life after death, then hang around here until 12 o'clock, and you will
    see life after death.
    John 11:43-44
    43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
    44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was
    bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

    Applications
    1... At the words of Jesus, Lazarus came forth. (Vs43) says, and when He thus had spoken, He
    cried with a loud voice, come forth.
    2... At His words, the dead man came forth. (Vs44) says and he that was dead came forth.
    3... In (John 11:39) we find that Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him
    that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
    5... Here is the word that the Lord gave me. If we are willing to see the dead come back to life,
    then we must be willing to roll away the stone.
    6...Many in the church world today are not willing to roll away the stone because it is a stinking
    business.
    What Part Do We Play?
    1... Dont miss this! Notice what happens when Lazarus comes out of the tomb Jesus turned to
    his family and friends and says, you Unbind him, and you set him free (I remind you today
    that we all still have loved ones that are bound with graveclothes), But Jesus is saying to us
    today, remove the stone, loose them and let them go free.
    2... Church, God is always counting on us to help Him do His work!
    5... I think this is a sacred part of the service this morning because I feel like God is trying to get
    our attention Church, Hes saying, Its time to get up its time to trust me its time for you
    to step out in faith and do what Im asking you to do
    6... If Lazarus hadnt obeyed Jesus, he would still be in the tomb If his friends and family
    hadnt obeyed Jesus, Lazarus would still be confined to his grave clothes, walking around like a
    mummy But by the grace of God, the power of Jesus, and with the help of friends and loved
    ones, Lazarus was set free! God is calling us to do His work!
    It's Time to Get Up:
    Rom 13:11-14

    11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our
    salvation nearer than when we believed.
    12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness,
    and let us put on the armour of light.
    13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and
    wantonness, not in strife and envying.
    14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts
    thereof.

    1... Can I tell you, I dont like alarm clocks! Why? Because alarm clocks are designed to alert
    you to the fact that its time to get up more sleep is not an option!
    2... I believe that spiritually its time for the church to wake-up. We need to wake up and see that
    we have stones to move, graveclothes to unbind.
    3... Now is not the time to reach for the snooze button, its time to get up, and get movin! I.
    Awake to our purpose:
    1... The churchs purpose is to be a hospital for sinners! Every church should be an evangelistic
    church!
    2... In our Mission Statement we find our purpose, which says, We are a family of Spirit filled
    believers dedicated for the purpose of making a difference in our community and world. As one,
    united together in the love of Christ we shall: Exalt the Savior. Evangelize the Sinner, and Equip
    the Saints.
    3... Our purpose as a church is to stay alert, we willing to roll away some stones, be willing to
    help others take of their graveclothes.
    4... God has placed the FWC in Fort Payne Alabama for a purpose. (Are we willing to fulfill our
    purpose as a church?)
    Awake to our position:
    1... We are a Family Worship Center, which means that we believe in the family, we believe in
    worship, we believe in a place called the center that we can meet to be edified.
    2... God told me to remind you of your position as a Christian. You have been called out for a
    purpose. You have a position in the Body of Christ.
    Conclusion:
    1... We cant reach over and hit the snooze button, its time to wake up!
