Sloped roofs (1/4 inch to 12), total load deflection shall be limited to 1/180 of the span.
Plaster ceilings shall be further limited to 1/360 with live load

Uniform live load deflection limits for floor members in commercial applications shall be
limited to; 1/600 of the span for spans greater than 20 feet, 3/8 inch for spans from 15
feet to 20 feet; and 1/480 for spans up to 15 feet.
Trus Joist has developed a rating system for predicting floor performance based on human response to the
"feel" of a floor system. Acceptable dynamic ratings are subjective, and dependent upon occupant
activity in the completed structure. Contact manufacturer for more information on this design
methodology. Retain subparagraph below when using any method of specification other than Trus Joist

PRODUCT DATA SHEET 1 - Source Limitations for Engineered Wood Products: Obtain each type of
engineered wood product through one source from a single manufacturer.
Most engineered wood manufacturers are not able to meet the requirements of LEED MR-7 because the
only recognized standard is The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Most follow sustainable practices
similar to FSC and provide for monitoring stringent nationally recognized forestry practices. Other
environmental assessment protocols, such as Green Globes (through the Green Building Initiative), do not
discriminate against the two largest sustainable forestry programs in the U.S. used by most engineered
wood manufacturers. Although not recognized under LEED Credit MR 7, Sustainable Forestry Initiative
(SFI) practices provide stringent, monitored and widely-used sustainable procedures.
PRODUCT DATA SHEET 2 - Forest Certification: For the following wood products, provide
materials produced from wood obtained from forests certified by an FSC-accredited certification
body to comply with FSC 1.2, "Principles and Criteria":
