APPOINT COACHES
Canada and Costa Rica last month
appointed their respective coaches for
the inaugural CONCACAF Beach Soccer
Qualifying Tournament where two
teams will progress to the 2006 FIFA
Beach Soccer World Cup scheduled to
be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in
November.
Futsal coach Ross Ongaro will lead
Canada into the sands of Rio de
Janeiro, while Mirta Brito De La Cuesta
is in charge of Costa Rica as she
becomes the first woman to coach a
mens squad in the Federations history.
Both teams join Cayman Islands,
Jamaica, Mexico and USA at the CONCACAF qualifying tournament which
will take place from 5-9 March alongside South Americas (CONMEBOL) sixteam Beach Soccer Qualification event
in Rio de Janeiro.
The top two from each
Confederations group (CONCACAF &
CONMEBOL) will not only progress to
the 2006 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup,
but will also claim a place in the tournaments semifinals where they will
