31. Have 110mm diameter pipes generally been used for the fibre optic cable
duct (pilot cable) and pulling bonds?
32. Do the pipe ducts, where possible, project a minimum of 1 m beyond the kerb
lines and do they project a minimum of 3 m for railway crossings beyond the
outermost rails?
Note 1: For dual carriageways and divided highways, the pipes shall continue
in an unbroken line under the central divider.
33. Do the bending radii of the pipe ducts not exceed the cable minimum bending
radii given above?
34. Are all pipes sealed until the cable is installed?
35. Have spare pipe ducts been installed for road, railway, river and other
services crossings as specified by the project engineer?
36. Have the pipe ducts been plugged at each end to prevent backfill entering the
pipe prior to installation?
37. Have spare pipe ducts been sealed at the ends to prevent the ingress of
water, vermin and backfill material?
