Adolescents are faced with many difficult life decisions which, when

coupled with their lack of self-knowledge, cause identity crises. They may
look to other alternatives which would influence the paths of life that they
want to take. Example of such alternatives could be celebrities, teachers,
relatives or maybe other role models in society. Adolescence is the
developmental stage between childhood and adulthood; it generally
refers to a period ranging from teen years i.e 13 to around nineteen years.
This is the age when one can either make something of his life or destroy
it at all. An adolescence is period of physical and psychological
development from the onset of puberty to maturity. The adolescent is no
longer a child, but they haven't reached adulthood yet. Adolescents are
often portrayed as irresponsible and thoughtless in our media and
literature. As an adolescent it's easy to be offended by this, but the more I
think about it the more I realize it is true and it's not at all bad. These are
the years when we learn how to be responsible, thoughtful adults. The
primary factor for adolescent development is education. Theyre fragile
and easily influenced at their age. It's a time of young love, parties, high
school, living a balanced life, and finding yourself. At this age teens are
sensitive, therefore, each miscarriage they encounter is equivalent to the
end of the world. Teenagers are constantly in deep thought; having
emotional mood swings. They are young adults, stuck in between two
completely divergent ages. My thoughts are not stable, my perspective on
life is different each day. Fortunately, my parents are the most
understanding people I know in my life, substantially my father. They
respect my thoughts, ideas, plans, and me overall. Adolescent suicide due
to stress, tension, peer pressure, jealousy, hatred, issues with parents,
love life etc. is now responsible for more deaths in youths than any other
reasons. Despite this increased suicide rate, depression in this age group

leads to serious difficulties in school, work and personal adjustment which

may often continue into adulthood. The phenomenon of teenage suicide
has become particularly disturbing, but risk-taking behaviors of many
sorts can be observed, including alcohol and drug abuse. Adolescents only
want to have fun and go to parties. They get addicted to drugs and start
to revolve their lives around drugs. Some get arrested and others
encounter death. Addiction is so powerful that it takes control of people's
brains and only tells them to do wrong. Drugs are highly addictive, and
most of the adolescents main goal is to fit in the group by doing what the
whole group does, this is how they get into these wrong stuff.
Adolescents see these things just as fun; and do not understand that this
road reaches nowhere. As a result of some activities parents become too
hard on their child. As a teenager I also feel that our adults are being a
little tough on us. But it is important for us to realize that whatever they
do it is for our own good. We all like to explore different things, want
answers to a lot of questions, but we have to be patient in that case
because often a lot of teenagers fall in to a lot trouble finding answers.
But yes it also the responsibility of our parents to make sure we get the
answers in a right way and in the right time. Often no one takes us
seriously and it hurts. Today's teens are so aggressive that they won't
think twice about anything and things often go uncontrollable.
Adolescents who share their room with their entire family or adolescents
who share room with many other adolescents lack privacy and have
limited space for all sort of activities. Therefore, they are tending to
become aggressive in nature. In conclusion Id just like to state that
adolescence is a period when an individual take decisions and start to
grow up. They should be given proper space in their life, too much
interaction of parents cause aggression. It is the age where an individual

do mistakes often but it the same time when they realize their mistakes
and try to correct them. If parents are frank with their children, children
will surely share everything with them and there will be no big issues.
Adolescence is also a time when one discovers more about his body. It the
age of puberty when an individuals body development starts making him
capable of reproduction. Also it influence their mind and emotions making
them hyperactive sexually. Therefore sex education is also important at
that age. In that age teens often consider loosing virginity is cool and all
that kind of crap. They dont realize they are just destroying their lives
with all those acts. They just want to them to be considered as adults but
they dont understand that being adult is about maturity not these kind to
foolishness. Many of these misconceptions leaded to unprotected
copulation, pregnancies, abortions, STDs, MMS etc. Also access to some
adult sites influence their mind as at this stage the mind is unstable.
Sometimes it might seem like everyone in school is talking about sex. For
both girls and guys, the pressure sometimes can be intense. For many
teens, moral factors are very important as well. Family attitudes, personal
values, or religious beliefs provide them with an inner voice that guides
them in resisting pressures to get sexually involved before the time is
right. Nobody wants to feel left out of things it's natural to want to be
liked and feel as if you're part of a group of friends. Unfortunately, some
teens feel that they have to lose their virginity to keep up with their
friends or to be accepted. It's easy to be misled by TV shows and movies
into thinking that every teen in America is having sex. These TV and movie
plots are stories, not real life. In real life, every teen can, and should,
make his or her own decision.
