OVERPRESSURE SCENARIO REPORT

EMR-87003
Overpressure Scenario Applicability
EMR-87003_T-87003-01A - FIRE

Applicable

Fire exposure may result in overpressure due to vaporiza on of residing liquid. Note that the equipment is located in a re zone and is within the re
exposure height of 30 feet.

EMR-87003_T-87003-02A.1 - MANUAL VALVE OPERATION OPEN-CLOSE

Applicable

*** VAPOR ***

Source: [Line 2"-1BC1P-N-0047-0.0"-N from Nitrogen Header on P&ID E-93298-08]:
Blocked vapor outlet may result in overpressure. The upstream pressure is limited to 235 PSIG maximum normal opera ng pressure in the Nitrogen
header, which is greater than the design pressure of T-87003 (1.0 psig). See 09A.1-FV-8686 fail open for calcula ons.

The vapor outlet may become blocked in due to any number of events, including the following:
1. Inadvertent closure of the manual valve on the vapor outlet line (6"-1SA0G-AV-3006-0.0"-N) on P&ID E-93305-07.

*** LIQUID ***

Source: [Line 2"-1SA0G-DM-0058-1.5"-FET from P-87919 & P-87920, Demin Water Pumps on P&ID E-93334-08]:
Over lling may result in overpressure. The upstream pressure is limited to the discharge pressure of the upstream PUMP (P-87919 & P-87920 on
P&ID E-93334-08; 125 psig) which is greater than the design pressure of V-87003 (1.0 psig). The ow rate of DM through the control valve, LV-8687B
and its Bypass Valve, is the unknown and is the largest feed ow to T-87003.
According to the tank datasheet, the maximum feed rate to T-87003 is 1680 gal/h. It will take less than 15 mins to over ll the tank. Over lling is
considered a credible overpressure con ngency.
Refer to Gooseneck-87003 for calcula ons.

Source: [Line 1"-1SA0G-PHE-2173-1.5"-EC from E-87020 on P&ID E-93231-04]:

Over lling may result in overpressure. The upstream pressure is limited to 1.7 psig by the maximum normal opera ng pressure in the jet condensate
header, which is greater than the design pressure of T-87003 (1.0 psig). The ow rate of this line is 0.1 GPM and is unlikely to cause over lling.

Source: [Line 2"-1SA0G-PHE-4021-1.5"-EC from E-87415 on P&ID E-93257-05]:

Over lling may result in overpressure. The upstream pressure is limited to 1.7 psig by the maximum normal opera ng pressure in the jet condensate
header, which is greater than the design pressure of T-87003 (1.0 psig). The ow rate of this line is 0.3 GPM and is unlikely to cause over lling.

Source: [Line 2"-1SA0G-PHE-4169-1.5"-EC from E-87416 on P&ID E-93267-05]:

[2" TYPE bypass valve around LV-8687B on line 2"-1SA0G-DM-0058-1.5"-FET from P-87919 & P-87920 Demin Water Pumps; P&ID E-93334-08]:
Normal opera ng pressure upstream of the listed valve is 125 psig according to the control valve data sheet for OPERATIONS, which is greater than
the design pressure of T-87003 (1.0 psig); therefore, inadvertently opening the listed valve may result in overpressure and over lling.

[1.5" check valve on line 1.5"-1SA0G-PHE-0057-1.5"-FET from P-87045 & P-87046 to V-87204; P&ID E-93234-16]: Normal opera ng pressure
downstream of the listed check valve is 13.5 psig according to H&MB which is greater than the design pressure of upstream T-87003 (1.0 psig);
therefore, latent failure of the check valve followed by shut-down of P-87045 & P-87046 may result in overpressure due to back ow. There is at least
one block valve upstream or downstream of the check valve, refer to scenario: T-87003_STORAGE TANK-02A.1 - MANUAL VALVE OPERATION OPENCLOSE

[1.5" check valve on line 1.5"-1SA0G-PHE-0056-1.5"-FET from P-87045 & P-87046 to V-87205; P&ID E-93235-15]: Normal opera ng pressure
downstream of the listed check valve is 7.5 psig according to H&MB which is greater than the design pressure of upstream T-87003 (1.0 psig);
therefore, latent failure of the check valve followed by shut-down of P-87045 & P-87046 may result in overpressure due to back ow. There is at least
one block valve upstream or downstream of the check valve, refer to scenario: T-87003_STORAGE TANK-02A.1 - MANUAL VALVE OPERATION OPENCLOSE

[1.5" check valve on line 1.5"-1SA0G-PHE-0056-1.5"-FET from P-87045 & P-87046 to T-87000; P&ID E-93294-16]: Normal opera ng pressure
downstream of the listed check valve is 0.0 psig according to H&MB which is less than the design pressure of upstream T-87003 (1.0 psig); therefore,
latent failure of the check valve followed by shut-down of P-87045 & P-87046 WILL NOT result in overpressure due to back ow. There is at least one
block valve upstream or downstream of the check valve, refer to scenario: T-87003_STORAGE TANK-02A.1 - MANUAL VALVE OPERATION OPEN-CLOSE

EMR-87003_T-87003-02A.3 - REMOTE IMPROPER VALVE SEQUENCING
