(s).
Braslia was kubitscheks brain child
(Ex: My dog. - A friend of mine), OF (The leg of the table) e o ( ) ou s
(apstrofo + s), que o Genitivo.
Compare os exemplos:
a) The dogs house is red (A casa do cachorro vermelha).
b) The house of the dog is red.(A casa do cachorro vermelha).
possudo. A frase permaneceu igual.
1 - Objeto possudo + Possuidor X Possuidor + Objeto possudo
Note: neste caso, no usamos genitivo porque o possuidor um
objeto. Podemos usar posse com of ou apenas invertermos a posio
entre posse e possuidor.
The door of my house. (A porta da minha casa)
Ou
My house door. (A porta da minha casa)
2 - Possuidor`s + Objeto possudo
Kubitschek s brain child.
exemplos:
The house of Betty - Betty s house
The book of John is here - John s book is here
I see the horse of that man in the field - I see that man s horse in the
field
tiramos o of (de)
invertemos a posio do possuidor (Betty) com o objeto possudo
(house)
acrescentamos s (apstrofo + s) ao possuidor
Ambos, s (apstrofo + s) e of, indicam posse, portanto, quando
A goldfish who was a bit of a philosopher was swimming in his
bowl. Suddenly he stopped and asked his friend,Do you believe in Gods
existence?
Of course I do, the other goldfish replied. Who else do you think
changes our water?
1. The lawn mower of the neighbor
- Possuidor: the neighbor
- Objeto possudo: the lawn mower
- Sintaxe: POSSUIDOR S + OBJETO POSSUDO
Ento: The neighbors lawn mower.
