The size and age of the Cosmos are beyond ordinary human understanding. Lost
somewhere
between immensity and eternity is our tiny planetary home. In a cosmic perspective,
most human concerns
seem insignificant, even petty. And yet our species is young and curious and brave and
shows much
promise. In the last few millennia we have made the most astonishing and unexpected
discoveries about the
Cosmos and our place within it, explorations that are exhilarating to consider. They
remind us that humans
have evolved to wonder, that understanding is a joy, that knowledge is prerequisite to
survival. I believe our
future depends on how well we know this Cosmos in which we float like a mote of dust
in the morning sky.
The dimensions of the Cosmos are so large that using familiar units of distance, such as
meters or
miles, chosen for their utility on Earth, would make little sense. Instead, we measure
distance with the speed
of light. In one second a beam of light travels 186,000 miles, nearly 300,000 kilometers
or seven times
around the Earth. In eight minutes it will travel from the Sun to the Earth. We can say
the Sun is eight lightminutes
away. In a year, it crosses nearly ten trillion kilometers, about six trillion miles, of
intervening space.
That unit of length, the distance light goes in a year, is called a light-year. It measures
not time but distances
- enormous distances.
There are some hundred billion (1011) galaxies, each with, on the average, a hundred
billion stars. In
all the galaxies, there are perhaps as many planets as stars, 1011 x 1011 = 1022, ten billion
trillion. In the face of
such overpowering numbers, what is the likelihood that only one ordinary star, the Sun,
is accompanied by
an inhabited planet? Why should we, tucked away in some forgotten corner of the
Cosmos, be so fortunate?
To me, it seems far more likely that the universe is brimming over with life. But we
humans do not yet know.
We are just beginning our explorations. From eight billion light-years away we are hard
pressed to find even
the cluster in which our Milky Way Galaxy is embedded, much less the Sun or the
Earth. The only planet we
are sure is inhabited is a tiny speck of rock and metal, shining feebly by reflected
sunlight, and at this
distance utterly lost.
A renowned economist and noted foreign policy expert, Subramanian Swamy has played a major role in Indias political affairs in recent
years, as a politician and latterly as a thorn in the flesh of the government and judiciary.
He has been described in local media in the past as a person trusted by few but ignored by even fewer. In the last couple of months Mr.
Swami has come into the spotlight challenging Indias juvenile law in the courts, a move that delayed one of the verdicts in the Delhi gang-
rape case.
The 73-year-old lawyer gained prominence as an activist after he successfully lobbied Indias federal agency the Central Bureau of
Investigation to probe the losses from the allocation of state telecom licenses in 2008. The state auditor found in 2010 that irregularities in
the awarding of 2G telecom licenses, led to government losses of US$40 billion.
In 2011, Mr. Swamy, who has a doctorate in Economics from Harvard University where he taught for ten years, asked the Supreme Court to
add Finance Minister P. Chidambarams name to a list of defendants in the 2G case. Mr. Chidambaram has denied any wrongdoing. Mr.
Swamys petition was later thrown out by the Supreme Court.
Recently, Mr. Swamy filed a petition in the Supreme Court calling for a review of Indias juvenile law. His petition led to a delay in the verdict
in the case of a juvenile accused in the gang rape and murder of a young woman on a moving bus in New Delhi last December an incident
which sparked nationwide outrage. The Supreme Court Thursday allowed the juvenile court to give a verdict on the alleged involvement of
the teenager in the incident.
My petition has been allowed and will be regularly heard. It will take three or four months, Mr. Swamy said
It is against the spirit of justice to prevent the juvenile court from giving a verdict. So the court said the juvenile court is free to give its order,
he added Thursday.
Mr. Swamy was head of the Janata Party [Peoples Party], which retained support, mainly in Indias south until last week when the party
merged with the Bharatiya Janata Party, the main opposition in Indias Parliament.
The country is passing through very difficult times. This is the time for unity, for national and nationalist purpose. I hope to work together to
see a new future for India can be built, Mr. Swamy told television news channels on Sunday after the merger was announced.
He has been elected five times to Parliament his last term being in 1998 when he was elected to the Lok Sabha or lower house of
Parliament, according to his official website.
He worked as minister of commerce and industry and as minister of law and justice in the early 1990s and later served as a member of the
countrys Planning Commission, the governments think-tank.
Born in Mylapore in the southern state of Tamil Nadu on Sept. 15, 1939, Mr. Swamy studied math at Delhi University followed by a masters
degree from the Indian Statistical Institute in the eastern city of Kolkata.
He has authored several books including Indian Economic Planning-An Alternative, Economic Growth of China and India, and Index
Number Theory.
He has written articles and delivered speeches in which he details his support for Hindu philosophy.
In a controversial article published in a Mumbai newspaper in July 2011, Mr. Swamy proposed depriving Muslims of the vote unless they
declared their families were converts from Hinduism. As a result, in December 2011 Harvard University dropped two summer economics
courses taught by Mr. Swamy from its curriculum.
Mr. Swamy was not available for comment.

At the very beginning of his book, "The Nehru Dynasty", astrologer K.N.Rao

mentions the names of Jawaharlal's father and grandfather.

Jawahar Lal's father was believed to be Motilal and Motilal's father was one

Gangadhar Nehru.

And we all know that Jawaharlal's only daughter was Indira Priyadarshini Nehru;

Kamala Nehru was her mother, who died in Switzerland of tuberculosis.

She was totally against Indira's proposed marriage with Feroze.

Why? No one tells us that!

Now, who is this Feroze?

We are told by many that he was the son of the family grocer.

The grocer supplied wines,etc. to Anand Bhavan (previously known as Ishrat

Manzil)

What was the family grocer's name?

One frequently hears that Rajiv Gandhi's grandfather was Pandit Nehru.

But then we all know that everyone has two grandfathers, the paternal and the

maternal grandfathers.

In fact, the paternal grandfather is deemed to be the more important grandfather in

most societies.

Why is it then, no where, we find Rajiv Gandhi's paternal grandfather's name?

It appears that the reason is simply this. Rajiv Gandhi's paternal grandfather

was a Muslim gentleman from the Junagadh area of Gujarat.

This Muslim grocer by the name of Nawab Khan, had married a Parsi

woman after converting her to Islam.

This is the source where from the myth of Rajiv being a Parsi was derived. Rajiv's father Feroze, was
Feroze Khan before he married Indira, against Kamala Nehru's wishes.

Feroze's mother's family name was Ghandy, often associated with Parsis

and this was changed to Gandhi,sometime before his wedding with Indira, by an

affidavit.

The fact of the matter isthat (and this fact can be found in many writings)

Indira was very lonely. Chased out of the Shantiniketan University by Guru Dev

Rabindranath himself for misdemeanor, the lonely girl was all by herself,

while father Jawahar was busy with politics, pretty women and illicit sex;

the mother was in hospital.

Feroze Khan, the grocer's son was then in England and he was quite

sympathetic to Indira and soon enough she changed her religion, became a

Muslim woman and married Feroze Khan in a London mosque.

Nehru was not happy; Kamala was dead already or dying. The news of this

marriage eventually reached Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (better known as

Mahatma Gandhi).

Gandhi urgently called Nehru and practically ordered him to ask the young man

to change his name from Khan to Gandhi. It had nothing to do with change of

religion, from Islam to Hinduism for instance.

It was just a case of a change of name by an affidavit. And so Feroze Khan

became Feroze Gandhi.

The surprising thing is that the apostle of truth, the old man soon to be declared

India's Mahatma and the 'Father of the Nation' didn't mention this game of his in

the famous book, 'My Experiments with Truth'.W hy?

When they returned to India, amock 'Vedic marriage' was instituted for public

consumption.

On this subject,writes M.O. Mathai (a longtime Private Secretary of Nehru) in his

renowned (but now suppressed by the GOI! ) 'Reminiscences of the Nehru Age'

on page94, second paragraph: "For some inexplicable reason, Nehru allowed

the marriage to be performed according to Vedic rites in 1942. An inter-religious

and inter-caste marriage under Vedic rites at that time was not valid in law. To

be legal, it had to be a civil marriage."


It's a known fact that after Rajiv's birth Indira and Feroze lived separately,but

they were not divorced.

Feroze used to harass Nehru frequently for money and also interfere in Nehru's

political activities. Nehru got fed up and left instructions not to allow him into the

Prime Minister's residence Trimurthi Bhavan.

Mathai writes that the death of Feroze came as a relief to Nehru and Indira. The

death of Feroze in 1960 before he could consolidate his own political forces, is

itself a mystery. Feroze had even planned to remarry.

Those who try to keep tabs on our leaders in spite of all the suppressions and

deliberate misinformation, are aware of the fact that the second son of Indira (or

Mrs.Feroze Khan) known as Sanjay Gandhi was not the son of Feroze.

He was the son of another Muslim gentleman, Mohammad Yunus.

Here, in passing, we might mention that the second son was originally named

Sanjiv. It rhymed with Rajiv, the elder brother's name.

It was changed to Sanjay when he was arrested by the British police in England

and his passport impounded, for having stolen a car.

Krishna Menon was then India's High Commissioner in London. He offered to

issue another passport to the felon who changed his name to Sanjay.


Incidentally, Sanjay's marriage with the Sikh girlMenaka (now they call her

Maneka for Indira Gandhi found the name of mythological Lord Indra's Court

dancer rather offensive !!)took place quite surprisingly in Mohammad Yunus's

house in New Delhi.

And the marriage with Menaka who was a model (She had model for Bombay

Dyeing wearing just a towel) was not so ordinary either.

Sanjay was notorious in getting unwed young women pregnant. Menaka too was

rendered pregnant by Sanjay.

It was then that her father,Colonel Anand, threatened Sanjay with dire

consequences if he did not marry her daughter. And that did the trick.

Sanjay married Menaka. It was widely reported in Delhi at the time that

Mohammad Yunus was unhappy at the marriage of Sanjay with Menaka.

Apparently he had wanted to get him married with a Muslim girl of his choice.

It was Mohammad Yunus who cried the most when Sanjay died in the plane

accident.


In Yunus's book, 'Persons, Passions & Politics' one discovers that baby

Sanjay had been circumcised following Islamic custom, although the

reason stated was phimosis.

It was always believed that Sanjay used to blackmail Indira Gandhi and

due to this she used to turn a blind eye when Sanjay Gandhi started to

run the country as though it were his personal freedom.

Was he black mailing her with the secret of who his real father was?

When the news of Sanjay's death reached Indira Gandhi, the first thing

She wanted to know was about the bunch of keys which sanjay had with him.


Nehru was no less a player in producing bastards.

At least one case is very graphically described by M.O. Mathai in his

"Reminiscences of the NehruAge", page 206.

Mathai writes:

"In the autumn of 1948 a young woman from Benares arrived in New

Delhi as a sanyasini named Shraddha Mata (an assumed and not a real

name). She was a Sanskrit scholar well versed in the ancient Indian

scriptures and mythology. People, including MPs, thronged to her to hear

her discourses. One day S.D. Upadhyaya, Nehru's old employee, brought

a letter in Hindi from Shraddha Mata. Nehru gave her an interview in the

PM's house. As she departed, I noticed (Mathai is speaking here) that

she was young, shapely and beautiful. Meetings of Nehru with her

became rather frequent, mostly after he finished his work at night. During

one of Nehru's visits to Lucknow, Shraddha Mata turned up there and

Upadhyaya brought a letter from her as usual. Nehru sent her the reply

and she visited Nehru at midnight...

Suddenly Shraddha Mata disappeared.


In November 1949 a convent in Bangalore sent a decent looking person to

Delhi with a bundle of letters. He said that a young woman from northern

India arrived at the convent a few months ago and gave birth to a baby

boy. She refused to divulge her name or give any particulars about herself.

She left the convent as soon as she was well enough to move out but left

the child behind.

She however forgot to take with her a small cloth bundle in which, among other things, several letters in
Hindi were found. The Mother Superior, who was a foreigner, had the letters examined and was told
they were from the Prime Minister.

The person who brought the letters surrendered them..."I (Mathai) made

discreet inquiries repeatedly about the boy but failed to get a clue about his

hereabouts. Convents in such matters are extremely tightlipped and

secretive.

Had I succeeded in locating the boy, I would have adopted him. He must have grown up as a Catholic
Christian blissfully ignorant of who his father was."


Coming back to Rajiv Gandhi,

we all know now that he changed his so called Parsi religion to become a

Catholic to marry Sania Maino of Turin, Italy.

Rajiv became Roberto.

His daughter's name is Bianca and son's name is Raul.

Quite cleverly the same names are presented to the people of India as Priyanka

and Rahul.

What is amazing is the extent of our people's ignorance in such matters.

The press conference that Rajiv Gandhi gave in London after taking over as Prime minister of India was
very informative. In this press conference, Rajiv boasted that he was NOT a Hindu but a Parsi.

Mind you, speaking of the Parsi religion, he had no Parsi ancestor at all.

His grandmother (father's mother) had turned Muslim after having abandoned the

Parsi religion to marry Nawab Khan.


It is the western press that waged a blitz of misinformation on behalf of Rajiv.

From the New York Times to the Los Angeles Times and the Washington Post,

the big guns raised Rajiv to heaven.

The children's encyclopedias recorded that Rajiv was a qualified Mechanical

Engineer from the revered University of Cambridge. No doubt US kids are

among the most misinformed in the world today!

The reality is that in all three years of his tenure at that University Rajiv had not

passed a single exam. He had therefore to leave Cambridge without a

certificate.

Sonia too had the same benevolent treatment. She was stated to be a student

in Cambridge. Such a description is calculated to mislead Indians. She was a

student in Cambridge all right, but not of the University of Cambridge , but of

one of those fly by night language schools where foreign students come to

learn English. Sonia was working as an 'au pair' girl in Cambridge and trying to

learn English at the same time.

And surprise of surprises, Rajiv was even cremated as per Vedic rites in full

view of India's public.


This is the Nehru dynasty that India worships and now a foreignerl eads a

prestigious national party because of just one qualification being married into

the Nehru family.

Maneka Gandhi, though Indian, herself is being accepted by the non-Congress

parties not because she was a former model or an animal lover, but for her

links to the Nehru family.

Saying that an Italian (or any foreigner) should not lead India will amount to

narrow mindedness, but if Sania Maino (now Sonia) had served India like, say,

Mother Teresa or Annie Besant, i.e. in anyway on her own rights, then all

Indians should be proud of her just as how proud we are of Mother Teresa.

Saying that any other party which comes to rule India is better is again equally

worse.

The point is Indians who nominate the people to stand in these elections; and

the people who vote their rulers (i.e. the authorities) must know thattruth

Why did the food come from Kauls house where his personal cook wasJan Mohammed? Where is Jan
Mohammed since Jan 11, 1966? It is said that with the help of KGB he had migrated to Pakistan. Ahmet
Sattarov has said that one Indian cook was also arrested along with them and that Indian cook prepared
the food for Shastri. He further said that according to him and other three cooks of his team that Indian
cook might give the poison to Shastri. Would the above fact not be biggest scoop for Mr. Kuldip Nayar,
Mr. Inder Malhotra and others?
Soutik Biswas BBC correspondent writes: Mr Nayar then pieces together the events leading up to Mr
Shastris death - of how the prime minister reached the dacha around 10 pm after a reception, chatted
with his personalstaff and asked his cook Ram Nath to bring him food which was preparedin the dacha
by the Russians.

had to get up early to leave for Kabul. Ram Nath offered to sleep on the floor in Shastris room but
Shastri told him to go to his ownroom upstairs. The assistants were packing the luggage at 1.20
am(Tashkent time), Jagan Nath recalled, when they suddenly saw Shastri atthe door. With great
difficulty Shastri asked: Where is doctor sahib? It was in the sitting room that a racking cough
convulsed Shastri, and hispersonal assistants helped him to bed. Jagan Nath gave him water
andremarked: Babuji, now you will be all right. Shastri only touched his chestand then became
unconscious. (When Lalita Shastri was told by JaganNath in Delhi that he had given him water, she said:
You are a very luckyperson because you gave him his last cup of water.
Above version of Nayar shows that he met every body except JanMohammed and Ahmet Sattarov who
prepared the food for Shastri. PerhapsIndian arrested cook was Jan Mohammed. What was the reason
for not making contact to him by Indian side there?
(7) Advocating for Jan Mohammed: As days passed, the Shastri familybecame increasingly convinced
that he had been poisoned. In 1970, onOctober 2 (Shastris birthday), Lalita Shastri asked for a probe
into her husbands death. The family seemed to be upset that Jan Mohammed, T.N.

Kauls cook at the time, had cooked the food, not Ram Nath, his own personalservant. This was strange
as the same Jan Mohammed had prepared foodfor Shastri when he visited Moscow in 1965.
Indira Gandhis body guard was always loyal to her. He took revange inanger after the entrance of Indian
forces into Swarn Mandir. So it does not mean the cook if not mix poison at the time of preparing food
in 1965, would be so also in 1966.Rajeshwar Prasad joined Shastriji in 1959 and worked under him for
sevenyears, finally he worked as joint secretary to the Prime minister. He sighted interesting illustration
in his book: Days with Lal Bahadur Shastr: Glimpsesfrom the last seven years Shy and retiring by
nature Shastriji shrank from personal publicity. On thesuggestions during his premiership he took some
changes and he did not shrink from to the same extent as before. Illustration: As premier minister he
attended the Non-aligned summit in Cairo in Oct 1964. There he had been housed in the Nile Hilton
Hotel by the banks of the river. Since he was a strict vegetarian with very simple taste, the normal hotel
fare did not suit him. Hence the U A R govt had made special arrangements for his attendant Shri
Ramnath, to prepare his simple fare inthe corner of the kitchen of the hotel.Ramnath was the personal
cook of lal Bahadur Shastri. Whenever Shastri was in the journey abroad, Ram Nath always remain with
him as a cook asa personal servant of him.Why was on the black cruel night of Monday, January 10,
1966, food for Shastri prepared by Jan Mohammed instead of Ramnath personal cook of Shastriji as he
did always in the past. Why could Ram Nath, be avoided in preparing the food for Shastriji?
(8) Gen Ayub was genuinely grieved by Shastris death. He came to Shastrisdacha at 4 am and said,
looking towards me: Here is a man of peace who gave his life for amity between India and Pakistan.
Later, Ayub told the

off well; Pakistan and India might have solved their differences had helived, he said. Aziz Ahmad,
Pakistans foreign secretary rang up Bhutto toinform him about Shastris death. Bhutto was half asleep
and heard only the word died, and apparently asked, Which of the two bastards?
What a terrible coincidence was that? When Ayub reached in the room of Nayar, arrest of five cooks
including one Indian cook was also happened at 4 A.M. of same night. And just before half an hour
Guljari Nanda took oath taking Prime Minister from President of India. And all delegation members and
leaders in India became busy with hectic trick to be or to make the next king or queen of India. Here india
still we find one family rule so I used the word here....instead of Prime Minister.
(9) Mr. Nayar further writes: Later, we discovered that Shastri spoke to his family in Delhi every day.
That evening, he had called Delhi and asked for Ammaji, his wife Lalita. His daughter came on the line. It
is said his daughter said, "Amma won't come on the line. You have given away Haji Pir andTithwa." It is
said she was very upset. Of course, former defense minister V K Krishna Menon and Vajpayee also
criticized him. He then asked his daughter to send him all the newspapers to Afghanistan where he
would halt for some time. It is said he tried to reach Delhi again, but Ammaji never came on line Mr.
Nayar could not disclose the reliable source of his above discovery.
Soumit Biswas BBC correspondent met Sidharth Nath Singh who is theBJP Parliamentarian and the
grandson of Lal Bahadur Shastri. SidharthNath Singh told Soumit Biswas that Mr Nayars account of the
telephone conversation that Mr Shastri had with his family members that night wasinaccurate, and that
he HAD spoken to his wife.Mr Singh, who was two years old when his grandfather died, says that one
person was detained on suspicion of poisoning Mr Shastri, but was released. Mr Nayars book has no
mention of this.

I heard that Lalita Shastri was angry with the two personal assistants who had accompanied Shastri
because they had refused to sign a statement which alleged that Shastri did not die a natural death.I
repeat again:
The widow whose sons were minor, the widow whose husband was the Prime Minister of India, that
giant who presented flowers of 1965 victory on the feet of Bharat Maata, was crying only for autopsy of
bluish body of Shastri, only for a probe into her husbands mysterious death but no one would come to
help her, even khaas aadami, personal secretary and personal assistants became blind in day light and
became dumb. Have any one seen a sorrowful scene bigger than that?

uring its raid on the Karnataka-Andhra politician trio, the Reddy Brothers, the CBI found
over 30 kg of gold, heaps of silver and some crores of cold cash. Bangalore was the
brothers playground, a base for their seven-star lifestyle as they hopped between
cities to keep lunch and dinner appointments in their private helicopter. So, rather than
incredulity, news of the Reddys stash has evoked an utterly-Bangalore retort,
Ashtena? (Is that all?)
The jaded response to the CBI find is quite understandable, considering the Reddys
reputation. During their heyday, visitors to their Bellary fiefdom were transported back in
time to an era of feudal maharajas and servile serfs. The Lokayukta, in its investigation
of the mining scam, tracked the bonanza of the Reddy brothers from their Obulapuram
Mining Company to various foreign tax havens. So, the CBI inventory of items like
gilded cutlery, a Rolls-Royce Phantom and a heap of mens jewellery looked like an
abbreviated summary of the Reddys real assets.
Bangalores passage to globalisation and its increasing economic fortune has been
underscored by the rising affluence of its politicians. While businessmen-turned-
politicians are few, the ranks of politicians-turned-businessmen are swelling.
Bangalores new-age companies like Infosys and Wipro took decades to grow into
billion-dollar enterprises. But politicians of the three major parties, all of which have
ruled the state in the last two decades, have multiplied their fortunes in the shortest
possible spans of time.
Owing to a Supreme Court ruling in 2002, those contesting an election are required to
file a list of their assets. In a sense, it has become easier to track the rise of the
declared assets (not benami or salted away offshore) of politicians in India. But there is
no mechanism to verify the declarations. If the actual wealth of Indias top politicians is
computed accurately, the list of richest Indians could look vastly different.
The infamous Reddy brothers benefactors include the former Andhra Pradesh chief
minister, Y.S. Rajasekar Reddy, whose son Jaganmohan Reddys declared assets were
Rs 363 crore, and his wifes assets an additional Rs 77.5 crore. Solely based on
declared assets, Jagan, as he is called, is among Indias richest politicians.
His wealth trajectory looks like this: in 2004, his declared assets were Rs 9.19 lakh; in
2009, after his father became chief minister, his declared assets zoomed to Rs 77 crore,
and then to the staggering Rs 363 crore as last declared, a multiplication effect that
would shame even Warren Buffett.
Some politicians are born wealthy; others are legitimately rich; but politics has largely
become a profitable business today. In Karnataka, that is amply illustrated by the roster
of former chief ministers and ministers roaming the courts in corruption cases. Last
month, former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa first pleaded a temporary loss of
memory and then checked himself into a hospital for fever, hypertension and diabetes
to get a waiver from appearing before the special court of the Karnataka Lokayukta in a
case related to alleged irregularities in denotifying government land.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka high court dismissed Yeddyurappas anticipatory bail plea in
another graft case. That makes the ex-chief ministers arrest a distinct possibility.
Ironically, Yeddyurappas political adversary, former chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy
found himself in a parallel predicament simultaneously, in cases involving a housing
society and a mining licence. The Karnataka high court refused to stay the corruption
proceedings against Kumaraswamy and his wife, Anitha. Meanwhile, the Lokayukta
special court turned down the couples anticipatory bail plea in the same case. The
couple asked to be exempt from court appearances, citing poor health
Kumaraswamy with diabetes and a heart ailment and his wife with a slipped disc but
have been turned down so far.
Even as Jagan from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh is being investigated on multiple
fronts and by various federal government agencies, the chief minister from nearby Tamil
Nadu has been ordered by the Supreme Court to appear at a Bangalore trial court in a
case pertaining to her disproportionate assets.
Some years ago, when a national magazine that generally lists Indias best colleges,
