This institution was started in the year 2002, under the chairmanship of Sri Ch. Malla Reddy, an educationalist, with the sole aim of imparting high quality technical education in the state of Telangana. This institution was started by CMR Educational Society, after the approval of AICTE and Affiliated to JNTUH, Hyderabad. The College is situated in the serene, lush green atmosphere on Kompally - Bahadurpally road opposite to A.P. Forest Academy. The college offers B.Tech. programs in Civil, EEE, Mechanical, ECE, CSE and IT. It also offers PG Courses MBA, MCA and M.Tech. Programs. As a measure of the Excellency of the college management, the college is accredited by NBA for Mechanical, ECE and EEE branches in July 2008 and NAAC with A Grade in 2010. This institute also got Autonomous in 2011, the institute has high quality infrastructure and well developed laboratories in all the departments. The institution has a great potential in advancement of Technical Education programs at all levels and supported by TEQIP - II S.C-1.1
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
The Department was started right from the inception of the college in the year 2002 with a vision of to enhance extensive knowledge in the fundamentals and enable the future engineers to have a competitive edge. Humanities plays a vital role in bringing out the students total personality to impart and enhance the advanced knowledge & skills and prepares them to meet the growing challenges of the industry and diverse societal needs of our nation. The department is involved in developing communication skills so that the students are able to express ideas clearly and persuasively, in written and oral forms. The department has got highly qualified and committed faculty members supported by dedicated technical staff. The department has established state of art Multimedia and Communication Skills labs. The department actively participates in training in soft skills right from B.Tech. first year onwards.
CENTRAL THEME OF THE WORKSHOP:
The main of idea of this program is to trouble shoot various problems faced by English Language Teachers in Engineering Colleges in India. Problems faced by them are of various kinds. Like,-1.Teaching the students who come from different background like regional language, rural and urban areas and so on. 2. Managing the curriculum to address all the needs of the students.3. English language teachers are required to take soft skills classes, classes for Campus Recruitment Test in addition to their regular class work. 4. Lack of training to address these problems. Hence, this programme is planned to address these problems and find suitable and viable solutions in Indian context.
OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP:
To refresh the knowledge on the English Language Education in engineering colleges in Indian context. To equip the participants with the adequate knowledge of the problems associated with English language education in India. To collaborate and discuss to find solutions to the existing problems. To expose the utilization of modern teaching methodologies and materials to deal with problems. To provide new insights into the L2 teaching in India.

The workshop is open to teachers from reputed universities, institutes and industry, apart from our own faculty.
