JOHOR VISITOR INFORMATION
Johor Bahru or fondly known as
JB is the state capital of Johor
in southern Peninsular Malaysia
just across the Causeway
from Singapore on the Straits
of Johor. Originally known as
Tanjung Puteri, Johor Bahru was
renamed in 1866 by Sultan Abu
Bakar. The history of Johor plays
a role in infuencing and shaping
the character and background
of social and culture in Johor.
Much of the character is best
experienced through its people,
arts, culture, food, lifestyles, and
tradition.
Besides boasting its historical
legacy, JB is now world renown
with the FIRST Premium Outlet
Center in South East Asia and
the frst LEGOLAND theme park
in Asia-Pacifc is set to open
soon. Bigger things are in the
works in JB under the Iskandar
Malaysia blueprint so read on
and marvel at the greatness of
The Jewel of Asia.
