Objectives of the case study

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
This case presentation aims to identify and determine the general health problems, the risk alleged to complicate lower spinal tumor, and the needs of
patient undergone Laminectomy. This presentation also tends to help client promote and prevent complications of such condition through the application of nursing
skills.
STUDENT CENTERED OBJECTIVES
At the end of this case study, the student will be able to:
KNOWLEDGE:
1. Obtain necessary information regarding the patient and her condition.
2. Gain knowledge about cause and surgical procedure for lower spinal tumor
3. Explain what lower spinal tumor is
4. Formulate and prioritize Nursing Care Plan for patient
SKILLS
1. Assess the patients overall health status
2. Present relevant and valid data that were gathered in an organized manner.
3. Demonstrate critical thinking skills necessary for providing safe and effective nursing care
4. Utilize effective communication skills to the patient and during case presentation
ATTITUDE
1. Strengthen cooperation and unity among member of the group by performing right and proper nursing interventions and responsibilities
2. Enhance our confidence in handling a patient with same complication
3. Develop a warm environment between the student and the patient for a better working relationship towards improvement of health


CLIENT CENTERED OBJECTIVES

At the end of this case study, the patient will be able to:
KNOWLEDGE:
1. Explain lower spinal tumor in own words
2. Identify possible risk factors that may have contributed to the development of tumor
3. Identify the importance of the treatments done to the patient
4. To explain different body changes before and after surgery
SKILLS
1. Modify the need for a healthy lifestyle to improve condition
2. To be able to apply proper exercises possible to regain physical strength
3. To utilize proper health management after the surgery
4. Compliance to continue interventions and health teachings provided by the students

ATTITUDE

1. Express awareness on the needs and condition of her present status
2. Develop the familys support system and distinguish their respective roles in improving her health status
3. Show involvement in promoting on her general health
