The key takeaways are that IBF certification can help improve career opportunities, job security, and recognition for both employees and employers in the demand planning and forecasting fields. It validates professionals' skills and knowledge through various exam levels.

For employees, IBF certification can accelerate career growth, validate experience and skills, build confidence, complement other supply chain certifications, increase recognition at companies, and help master demand planning and forecasting skills.

There are three levels of IBF certification: Certified Professional Forecaster (CPF) earned by passing exams 1-3, Advanced Certified Professional Forecaster (ACPF) earned after CPF by passing exams 4-5, and Certified Professional Forecaster-Candidate (CPF-C) as an entry point for new professionals.

IBFs Demand Planning, Forecasting,

and S&OP Certication Program

As we move into a more demand driven environment the
pressure to forecast and plan accurately is no longer an
option, but an absolute must. As a result, this has created an
unmet demand for Demand Planners, Forecasters, and Sales
& Operations Planning (S&OP) professionals in the eld. How
do you pre-qualify yourself and prove to management and/ or
prospective employers that you have what it takes to do the job?
How can you improve your career opportunities and maintain
job security? And for employers, how can you build condence
that you have the right team to help you improve market-share
and protability, the fruits of improving forecast accuracy? IBF
certication answers all of these questions.
IBFs certication program is based on its veried body of
knowledge which it has been maintaining for over 30 years. This
knowledge is built on best practices that are exible and grow
as economies evolve and change. IBF Certied professionals
demonstrate that they are passionate about the eld and often
receive greater compensation and recognition. They are more
likely to foster change, encourage collaboration & consensus,
build critical relationships, and improve company performance.
The forecasting function is approximately three years old
at our company. Yes, the exam(s) did a good job of verifying
my professional experience along with knowledge gained
through IBF conferences and tutorials.

The reason I wanted IBF certification was to give me more knowledge about the forecasting area...It has
helped me tremendously, not only with just being knowledgeable about the forecasting & planning area and
best practices, but it also helped show other people that I am knowledgeable about what I am doing...
It helped me not only to land the job, but get the compensation that I was looking for. Estee Lauder felt, given
the fact I took the time to study and get certified meant that I really knew what I was doing. That made me
more confident to take on a role and it made me feel I was working for a company that really understood what
forecasting was all about Keyamma Garnes, Director of Demand Planning, ESTEE LAUDER
