GENERAL
3.1 Pumps and auxiliaries shall conform to API Standard 676 except as modified in Section 4 of this Guide. 3.2 The vendor shall furnish the pump, driver, gear reducer (if required), couplings, guards, and baseplate in accordance with this Guide, EGE 15-D-2, and the Project Specifications. The vendor shall be responsible for the guarantee and overall performance of the pump, driver, and auxiliaries. 3.3 If two or more pumps are purchased for the same conditions, the parts including those of the subassemblies shall be interchangeable. 3.4 4. The vendor shall comply with the requirements of EGE 00-C-4 except as modified herein. MODIFICATIONS TO API STANDARD 676
The following items are amendments to API Standard 676. The section and paragraph numbers refer to those used in that standard.
SECTION 2 BASIC DESIGN
The bearing lubrication shall be selected for the service indicated on EGE 15-D-2. The vendor shall specify the following: (1) the amount and frequency of lubrication for separately lubricated bearings and timing gears; (2) the Mobil equivalent lubricant.
for 22 kW to 56 kW (30 hp to 75 hp) motors, plus 10 percent for motors of 75 kW (100 hp) and larger. 2. The horsepower required for continuous pump operation with total flow through the relief valve and a 15 percent accumulation when handling liquid with the highest specified viscosity.
When fully open, relief valves shall be able to handle the rated capacity with pressure accumulation of not more than 10 percent above the set pressure.
