Technology Requirements!
Make sure your child has the following tools for the online course:
Computer Headset Camera Printer Scanner (could be substituted by a camera) High Speed internet connection

The following tools are an essential part of your childs development in the online course:
Notebook (second primary) Pencils & eraser Dry erase board (11 x 14 aprox.) Dry erase markers (must have a black one) & eraser Construction Paper Scissors, markers, and crayon Base ten blocks & place value mat

Prerequisite Students Skills!
We understand that first graders might not know some of the skills needed to understand or manage the online course. For this reason each parent and/or coach will play an important role in the development (educational and technological content) of each student. That said, it is very important to teach (in terms of technology use) each student along the way, because we do want them to acquire technological skills that he/she will continue to apply for the rest of his/her life. There is always a first time! Student should know how to:
turn on/off a computer use left click (mouse) open Internet Explorer (or the one you prefer) look for the course link (you can create one) scroll down/up a page play videos & play them in full screen close pages

Also, the student should:


know how to read sight words for his grade level recognize numbers to 100 write numbers to 20

Communication Policy!
Student (parent/coach)/ Teacher Communication Policy:

Communication will be primarily via e-mail. If needed or determined by any of the parts, communication could happen via phone or Skype/FaceTime, etc. Any communication via phone or Skype will be previously scheduled through email. Depending on the issue or concern, if communication via phone or Skype is needed, the teacher will determine if the issue will be addressed before or after a period of 24 hours. The subject of an email should at least include the students name. student name/issue Ex: John Johnson/ Doubt about calendar The coach should write his/her name in the message. Grading Scale:
A = 90-100% B = 80-89% C = 70-79% D = 60-69% F = 59% and below

Makeup Policy:
Makeups will be offered according to teachers discretion. A makeup will be offered to replace the score of a quiz or test.

Late Policy:
Late assignments will be accepted, but grade will be affected. Points will be taken off each day passes after due date. Please notify the teacher if there is a problem that affects handing in the assignment on time. "4
